Jacket possibility

Tried again yesterday to find a jacket to go with this skirt (and other skirts, but this is the hardest to match). Not sure it does. I do realise it is difficult to see the details

My reservations are; the pointed bottom of the jacket interferes with the skirt peplum detail, it has no collar, but I think I am resigned to that, it can't be done up and it is not good quality (from Temt)

Your thoughts?

The jacket looks really great from the front. It's only when I read 'skirt peplum' that I looked closer. Does the skirt have peplum starting at the side of the waist and going all the way back?

Otherwise the pointed bottom detail of this jacket adds vertical lines and interest that looks great with your outfit. However, the back skirt peplum could be an issue...but I can't see it well from this angle.

Thanks Maneera, I do realise it is really difficult to see with black and with the angle I could get in the change room.
The skirt is the one I wore yesterday that you commented on. The peplum detail in on the hips on the side. (I like peplums but am too longwaisted to find ones that fit in tops, so had to get them in a skirt.)

I did recognize the skirt, which is why I didn't ask for a picture of the back view....you obviously can't be wearing it today

But I can imagine the hem of the jacket interfering with the peplum. I think you should pull down your sweater on the sides to cover the peplum and then wear the jacket on top, for winters anyways. In summer the peplum can come out to play. Or get a longer jacket that covers the peplum completely. In any case, if you don't want to 'hide' the peplum, you'll need a jacket that ends above or below it.

Thanks Maneera - lots of options there. I hadn't actually considered hiding the peplum, but that might be easiest. Sorry I haven't got a picture of the back of the skirt on me, but here it is from the shop

Thanks for the link Anne. I took a look and I would say that peplum is very subtle. Its only on the sides...not the back...so I really wouldn't worry about it at all. The skirts reads like a pencil skirt to me. Its a beautiful skirt though! I really really love it.

Its definitely easier to hide the peplum if it bothers you that the jacket hits somewhere 'on' it. I rather like the jacket you tried yesterday. After reading more about your body type on Jenny's post, I think this jacket does give good vertical detailing and would be ideal for most pencil skirts, it fits really well too.

Where is the peplum on the skirt, Anne? I don't see it!! I dunno about the quality, but I like this jacket here, as collarless as it is, esp pointed bottoms!

I like the shape and the style, Anne. I think the main question is: Is this jacket a "placeholder" for a jacket that you can't find or afford (or both)? There's nothing wrong with buying something that's cute, fun and temporary. Just make sure you really enjoy it (shouldn't look chape, even if it is), and that purchasing it doesn't leave you unable to get a replacement.

From the pics, I like it alot. Does it go with other things in your closet?

It would TOTALLY be a placeholder and I've decided I'm not going there. It does look cheap. I tried another even cheaper one yesterday. I just can't seem to like $40-$50 jackets these days, though I may buy other garments from the same (teen) shops (Aussies I am talking about Temt, Ally, Valley Girl)

Plus on my day off yesterday I found the 2 missing cardigans, so this isn't such a wardrobe hole anymore.
