I found this (Marc Jacobs!) boucle for a pretty good price: http://www.fabric.com/ProductD.....aded5292a1

It's just so pretty! (it's metallic silver, navy and fuschia). I'm thinking about ordering some to make myself a Chanel-style jacket (although not super authentic - there's a reason the real deal costs thousands and it's not just the name, I just don't have the time to hand-sew a whole jacket). Do you guys think it would work or is it too loud?

I remember that fabric in the Marc by Marc Jacobs stuff from a few seasons back. I like it but I remember the pink being very bright and dominant.

I think if you keep the rest of it simple and neutral it would work....it definitely would be a statement piece! I'd go real light on the accessories too, or perhaps none at all....maybe a bracelet or watch, thats it.

A year or two ago, I would have said no. Now, however, though it's still not my favorite color (to look at, at least), I love to *wear* pink. I love how it can be feminine and spunky all at the same time. Very Elle Woods, in a good way.

Hm, I have to say it looks pretty loud. I'm think the strong pink and black look fairly...harsh together...for me the gray background does not mitigate this...but of course, it's all subjective.

How about a pencil skirt instead? With some hose, boots, denim or moto jacket, and simple top, you could have a gorgeous outfit!

I would do that over solid black. I have a couple from a few years ago similar loudness...I wear them with all black...of course:)
