J Jill: Could I hear comments?

I've been looking at a couple of items in the Wearever Collection lately.
I like the looks of the Wearever tunics. They look cozy for fall and winter with leggins.
How are you finding the new collection

Jennifer, thanks for the heads-up on the new collection! I just went to the website and am intrigued by the crepe tunics. I like this one with the dropped shoulders:

I am not familiar with the Wearever collection, but I am going to try to get over to JJill sometime this week and will report back. I am looking for some loose-fitting tunics to wear this fall over my skinny jeans.

Are there any tunics in particular that you are considering? The denim popover looks cute, too.

Deb, Thanks for pointing out the crepe, dropped shoulder tunic. I'd missed it and I can't wait to hear your first hand take on it. I can't get to the store for another few weeks but think that crepe shirt might look great with my new NAS waxed plum jeans. What do you think?
I'm off to look at the denim popover.
Both of the tunics were in the wearever grouping. Sorry I can't link at this time.

I will have to go to the site and take a look. I dropped J Jill from the list of places I look at because for a while, they seemed to be shifting from nice clothes for grown women to shapeless long denim skirts and dowdy pants. Sounds like they've stepped up their game.

I'm not familiar with these particular items from J Jill but I did order two of the silk long sleeve shirts back in early summer and am very pleased with the quality and fit.

I had a pair of the Wearever pants a while back (but probably not the current fabrication) and I felt like I was wearing PJ pants. I think they look a little too obvious styled with the other Wearever items, but I am always attracted to the simplicity of the idea. Lately I've found j. jill too sweet/conventional for my personal style goals, though I still do get the catalog!

Alaskagirl, Right, who doesn't like a good catalog? Good tip on the PJ styling of the pants. I would use my own legging with the tunic. I always wonder about J Jill, sometimes a little sweet but sometimes refreshingly laid back.

April, Did you get a chance to take a look at the crepe blouses and tunics?

TS This is good to hear. Nice silk blouses.

I wonder if Angie ever shops there. I don't recall her mentioning that it's one of her regular stops.
As I mentioned earlier I can't get to a store for a few weeks so if anyone has a chance to pop into the store. I'd love to hear what you think about those crepe tunics and Wearever tunics. Thank you.....

I know that in the past, Angie has said she does not trust their sizing -- by which I think she meant they were running very large. They may have readjusted the sizing in recent years.

I do like the crepe button-front tunics, Jenniferblue, though I know this is not a style I personally can wear well. I can picture them the way you're thinking, with leggings or skinny jeans. I also think some of the dresses they're showing have the potential to look seriously adorable:

I'm totally in agreement with your likes/off the rail pieces.
The crossover sleeveless top is chic and the long sleeved dress looks like it's an adorable
piece.
But then there are the serious misses. Ouch!
Would love to hear Angie's words of wisdom.

I think it's all in how you style it - JJill has gone in a sort of Eileen Fisher direction with a lot of their stuff recently and I think if you keep the colors and silhouettes like that it can look cool. Or it can look like you've given up and are wearing PJs in public.

I have a small capsule of JJill Wearever cardies/jackets that I've acquired over the years. I do wear them with more structured bottoms...ponte pencil skirt, Karen Kane ankle pants, black wide leg trousers. I love them for travel and for what I think of as "professional comfort" clothes. I'll have the opportunity to visit a JJill store in a couple of weeks, and I'm hoping they'll have some of those luscious crepe tunics in my size!
