J. Crew: Sizing advise for outwear.

I am 5' 7" tall and 115 on the scale. Small frame. And a 34C bust. Last week's purchase at The Loft surprisingly found me in a size 0 for their Marisa Straight Leg Corduroys, down from a 2. I'm a 2 in their jacket/blazer. Down from a 4. I can't live w/out the J. Crew Double Cloth Lady Day Coat, which I was able to locate in Kelly Green. Lust!!! But I do not know if I could get away w/a size 0 in the J. Crew coat, or if I would need a 2.

Any advice on the size? Thank you for your forthcoming advice.

I think their coat sizing is pretty straight on honest. Not vanity sizing. I wear a 10 in my JCrew coat, and I've always worn a 10 (no matter how skinny or not I am) in almost all good quality coats and jackets. I suggest trying the 2 first. It is always better to err on the side of slightly too big for a coat, rather than too small.

I would try the 2 first. I am size 4 in tops and size 4 in the J Crew jackets.

I got the red coat from JCrew that Angie suggested last year, and I had to get it in 6 as opposed to my regular 4. 4 was just a little bit tight. Which is surprising, because I'm pretty much a 4 in everything there. I also have a puffer coat from Jcrew, which I have in my regular small. My advice would be to go for 2, I guess....

If you phone than they can give you item measurements. Take a tape measure and compare to something you have and see if that narrows it down. I find their sizing quite consistent for outerwear. I always take a 4 and I am just a bit bigger than you.

Much obliged, Everyone. The 2 was a great fit w/plenty of room to fit over a bulky sweater comfortably.
