J Crew sizing?

And more specifically, J Crew Collection? Is it true to size, run a bit small, etc. I see some long admired shorts but they are available in one size off from my normal. Wondering if I should risk it.

how would it compare to, say, Express suiting sizes?

I've bought quite a few J. Crew things over the years, although never any Collection stuff. I find it fits quite true to size, or perhaps a little big. I also find that their sizing is very consistent -- I'm always a 2Petite or a regular 0 in J. Crew stuff.

Hmmm. I'm eyeing one size bigger than I normally wear. But it says cut for close fit.

Chances are, the more expensive stuff fits slimmer. It often does. Not sure why.

It might be an easy alteration, too, if it is too big. I wouldn't have sized down. Good luck!

JC is including reviews on their site now
I have found their sizing to be all over the place so I would try on in the store and not buy anything final sale

I usually buy my smaller size in shorts/pants from the regular jcrew stuff. I like a comfortable, not tight fit. But I agree that the collection items may run more true to size (smaller) as they are likely more tailored.

What chadya said, for me, has been true of tops, especially since with different styles I may want tailored, fluid, other. I get nowhere with their pants, so don't know about that.

Well, in store is not an option. These are last year's and this is literally the last pair on the internet. I could have tried them a few months back but that was final sale and I decided no more of those. These are returnable to the Outnet. They are lined and have no stretch, so I'm thinking some room might not be a bad thing. Guess I'll find out soon!
