I am trying out something that is a bit different for me and so far thinking will keep, even though it may be more for next year, as my brain is already yearning for spring even thought we are not yet at mid-January.

I ordered the J Crew Stewart plaid leather zip case/clutch in what are supposed to be a large and a medium because I could not find dimensions listed.
The Find is actually the small; it seems sold out and I could not bring up a photo of the Large size.
The large is not very large but holds everything I typically put in a "dressy" or date-night clutch. ( the other one sent seems VERY small, but is supposed to be the medium).

What I really like about it is that I'm mad for the plaid and the way it offers endless color possibilities, for sure suggests Christmas but is a bit subdued. Recent holiday experience is that I don't do much typical Christmas red in clothing anymore ( I have saved one red cashmere sweater but only wear it a couple of times a year so it may not be worth its storage). Yet I like a touch of such color during the season and I like some holiday cheer but want to minimize storage or upkeep of items I may only use for a couple of months.
I wear a LOT of burgundy and have it in multiple weights and fabrics, so I am all set whether I am in the deep South or in snow, at Christmas. I never know where I will be celebrating Christmas and often travel to be with family in one or more other states, and if I travel, I like solid, mix and match items and not to worry about "holiday" clothing from a suitcase.
This plaid goes with red, burgundy, plum, navy, black, blush, gray, denim AND metallics. That's another thing--if I do wear some blingy clothing at holiday time, such as my silver jacket, or a sparkly top, I don't usually want to repeat in a metallic clutch.
The one thing I would prefer is if it were a more structured clutch, or softer, but it is constructed quite simply with a top zip, perhaps what some would use as just an organizer, inner bag. Also the zip is bronzey color, whereas if I am wearing shiny clothing, it will be silver or pewter,but the zip is not too assertive. So I'm wondering if either of those would be a problem? The up side is, it takes up so little room and would fit my goal of the more seasonless wardrobe combined with seasonal fun accessories, and easy to pack.

I don't have this targeted for "gala" dressing per se, when I would use more ...?... polished accessories, so the more casual nature is okay I think and in fact would let me carry it more often.
