Looking for a way to do the sweatshirt trend without wearing any of my actual sweatshirts that are really gear. I found this one at j. crew which I'm contemplating with my leather pencil skirt. What do you think?

It's so cute and, like Janet and Scarlet, I like your idea of pairing it with your leather skirt. Houndstooth is so cool in my book that it could be paired with pretty much everything, from jeans to pencil skirts and leather pants. I like it!!

This sweatshirt was featured in Angie's post on the "new" sweatshirt, right? I think I added it to my wishlist from that post, anyway, because it wouldn't otherwise have caught my eye. I haven't managed to find it in any of my local stores, but if you do, please take pictures and show us! Love the idea of dressing down a pencil skirt.

I think this could really work for you Una, not only with the leather pencil skirt but with other bottoms as well, like your BF jeans or your hot pink slouchy trousers......ooooohhh, I really REALLY like the idea of it with the pink slouchy trousers. It could also look fab underneath your black Theory blazer. Definitely worth a try.

I love houndstooth and I love sweatshirts paired with fancier duds, like leather skirts. My only beef with this particular one is the band on the bottom. I have this thing about different-colored bands on tops (vs. no band like a straight boxy cut shirt, or a band in the same material) because I just don't care for that horizontal line cutting right across the hips. But, I am a weirdo with some weird ideas, obviously, and a black band is way better than a white band, especially if you pair it with a black bottom.
