I ordered the wool capris in Dahlia and Yacht Blue RIGHT after getting my catalog, a couple of weeks ago, and the Dahlia were already back ordered until mid-October.
I can't quite tell what is manufactured to be low quantites as a way to drive up demand (LAME) vs. failure to predict how popular certain items will be (DUMB). I think maybe it's a mix of both. Sometimes things do come back in stock but I know that their coats, for example, are very popular and once they are gone, they're often gone--I have been on wait lists and had sales associates trying to find a given coat for me with no luck. Especially true on the small sizes.
A specific comment on the cafe capri--I think the fit is a bit weird on these and they are NOT lined which I don't love. I returned the Yacht Blue ones right away to my local J. Crew store (where the sales associate commented how happy they were to have that return as they got ONE size run in those pants and had blown through them already) and will wait and see what I think of the Dahlia when they arrive. They were a bit more fitted through the leg than I would prefer, especially for a work look, but a size up would leave them way too big in waist...
