Yay! Can't wait to see it. I have no idea when mine'll arrive, but I'm starting to suspect I may need to have it taken in a bunch, since I ordered a 10. We'll see. Skirt sizing is so random. Yesterday I tried on a size 6 skirt at the GAP, and it fit. ????

You might have to have it taken in Brianna. Have you ever worn any bottoms from J. Crew? I would say the skirt runs true to size (which means Kyle must now be a size 6--way to go with your healthy eating, Kyle!)

Anyway, it's not lined, so having it taken in won't be too complicated a process. I'm not sure how much alterations cost, but I know here I pay a lot more for lined items to be altered than unlined. Hopefully it will be the same for you in Canada.

my skirt just came in last nite, woohoo! it is a sleek design and lovely fabric. it doesn't crease horizontally much at all, and retains its clean shape great. like others, it is a tad long (below the knee), but no problem for hemming.

i usually wear a 4/6, but took a risk with the 4 after hearing about stretching. a previous size 4 thrifted j. crew denim skirt also worked, so it was a calculated decision.

looking forward to seeing all you ladies work the denim skirt soon!

Ana, I've never worn JCrew bottoms before. I'll have to wait impatiently and see. I figured it would be better to err on the side of too big, since it can always be taken in (by a tailor or by my husband, quite possibly! He's good at sewing. And making cookies. And fixing the car. And building bookshelves. And making wine, and and and... he's the best.) Clothing sizes are SO random. I wear anything from a 6 to a 12, small to an extra large, depending on the brand, item, etc. I'm sure it's the same for everyone on here.
