Thanks San! Maybe I'm crazy but I can't find the cardis on the J Crew site. Huh? I looked under knits, sweaters, jackets, tops.... I know they have or had good ones, but now I don't see any. Ana, resident J Crew expert, can you help??

I'm looking for a basic short (or half) sleeved black cardigan, and possibly another color as well. One that has buttons all the way down the front (not just one), and that is skirt or pants length, rather than short and ending below the bustline. Would prefer v-neck but am open to crew neck.

Okay, here are a couple possibilities:

This one is VERY light weight, I've seen it in person and it's cute. It's on the shorter side though (hits at high hip):

This one has long sleeves and is medium weight, but you could scrunch up the sleeves like the model. This one is a bit longer:

This one is my favorite. I have it in black and just ordered the white and sapphire. The cotton is really nice and doesn't pill at all. It has short sleeves and a crew neck and I've worn it with pants and skirts:

No problem. These cardigans are only available online, but you can order on the red phone and shipping is free. They run true to size, and are not boxy. I wear a medium in it and you would probably wear a Medium too if you like your sweaters to be fitted.
