I've spent two days shopping for....

bath mats.
seriously... why is it so difficult? I'll spare you the drama of the details but I was seriously on the verge of a nervous breakdown in Bed Bath and Beyond.

With the shopping ban in place, I am focusing on a few things in my house that need replacing. Bath mats were first on the agenda. Next month... sheets. I'll try to not have a meltdown in the bedding department.

I know your frustration! We moved into a new place in AZ and needed new everything -- and I made the mistake of taking the fiance along to Bed Bath and Beyond. Not a good idea! A very frustrating experience.

I get it! I am like that with our white towels.

I like the bath mats at Restoration Hardware if that helps. And I love their towels too

Did you end up with bath mats at the end of the 2 days though?

You would think shopping for bath mats would be a little easier than shopping for skinnies or comfortable shoes, seems when you really need something you can never find it. I'm struggling over the right kind of pans (cooking) to get. There are just too many choices!

Heheh you make me laugh. Mum had the same problem a several weeks ago I'm like just choose a colour that will go with the bathroom and then we can move on to proper shopping But she wails that it has to be the right size, shape, texture and be rubber backed!!!!! I'm with you Carole it's much easier to shop for clothes. She eventually found the perfect one 3 weeks later!!!!

How typical - something that should be simple becomes its own 'project'!

FWIW - I have had luck with stray bath items at Tuesday Morning - great quality at low price, but random. I only need white bath mats, so that usually works well.

Also, Lands End has good quality at decent prices for bed and bath. Usually pretty basic colors - nothing cutting edge here - but dependable. . .

I"m glad to hear I'm not the only one driven crazy by the hunt for the perfect bath mat.
Louise, I'm the opposite of your mom.. I do NOT want the rubber backing. I also don't want the fuzzy ones that look like bear fur.
The problem I find with Tuesday Mornings or TJ Maxx is that I need 3 of the exact same color and size and for some reason this seems to be too tall of an order for stores like that.
I was trying to match my light brown towels... with no luck, so went with white instead. At least white matches the baseboards and I can bleach them.

sigh.. now on to more important matters like what to make for book club today
