I love to experiment with new trouser silhouettes and culottes appeal to me in a big way. Although my favorites will always be the ones I wore when I met Angie and Aida for the first time, I was eager to expand my selection.
I love the Club Monaco culottes Angie posted but since CM does not ship here and they are a bit pricey, I looked around locally for some alternatives.

I assumed I would have to shorten whatever I found and I would love some input about where to hem. I have attempted to show each pair full length and one shortened option - folded under in a sloppy way but I hope you get the idea.
#1 -3 I combed through what was left of the Zara sale and found these cobalt trousers on super discount. Do they work as culottes? What about the length I tried? Original length in #3.
#4 and 5 I really wanted white culottes and found these at a second hand store for even less that the Zara sale price! They are by a local boutique brand. Original length in #5. Same questions - do they work and what about the length.
#4 I dug out these linen wide leg pants in another second hand shop (what is the fine line between wide leg cropped pants and culottes?). What do you think? I just hiked them up to show a shorter length in #6, #7 is original length.
