Slow learner that I am, it's been a year or keeping or returning, making mistakes and experimenting. But I think I'm finally honing in on my style.

I started out here wanting to learn to be more controlled and focused in my shopping, but I never thought of it in terms of my style before, because there were so many things I loved, without realizing they weren't ME. I had no thought process or system. Now I look back and can't believe I was that unfocused.

I can now look through sites or stores and confidently eliminate what will not work for me in terms of my shape, style or life. I don't feel any pressing wardrobe holes, only a few wants. This season has been remarkable in terms of finding items that suit what I'm aiming for, which has really helped. Aida's list and Heather's rule (find three ways to work it) are rules of thumb for me now. And above all, Angie's Team polls and the feedback of YLF has kept me in check (the polka dot dress being the most recent example).

I don't know that I've cured my style schitzophrenia, but I've tamed it down to a manageable beast. And although I never thought I'd come up with a term for my style aspirations, UWP has really given me a direction and a focus!

For the next year, my goal is to prevent myself from falling into repetition now that I know what I love and what works. Instead of varying the whole thing, I'm going to try varying one element (like color) - like the Muu Baa jacket, which is everything I love but in a new color palette. Jean is a huge inspiration here as she seems to vary her look while remaining true to her style. Everything she wears is totally HER, and that is my aim as well.

Thank you all so much for being such wonderful companions on this fun and enlightening journey so far!
