It's hard to believe, but I'm trendy

I got an email from Nordstrom "Fashion Advisor" with a list of top fall trends:

Their list is:
- Boyfriend blazer
- Leggings
- Pencil skirt
- Sheath dress
- Pretty blouse (which means ruffles or a bright print)
- Long cardigan
- Studs and chains (on accessories)
- All-season sandals (high-heeled platforms)

I read through the list and realized that I have almost everything on it, and it's not even fall yet! This forced me into the shocking realization that I may be trendy, something I have NEVER been before. Thanks to Angie and everyone on the forum for forcing me to revise my self-image.

Congrats on your transformation, fashion forward without being too try hard is difficult to achieve.

I am starting to rebuild my wardrobe and I'm lost in the fashion wilderness.

Well done on having all those key items. I mamaged to tick a few on the list so maybe but thats probably by accident. I have learned a lot over the last week though and that is all down to ylf and the help of all you lovely ladies!

Of course I only know of the existence of these trendy items because they're suggested on the blog and the forum. So it's also a reminder that Angie and the rest of you wise forum members really know what you're doing!

WTG! I enjoyed looking at the Nordie's link and hope Angie will blog about some of these trends like the boyfriend blazer and how to wear it. The Nordies page shows everything from fitted to boxy.

LOL, I had the same feeling last fall after following YLF. And I wasn't even trying, trendy was definitely not my goal and all of a sudden I found myself owning the "key pieces". YLF was a tremendous help in planning my shopping, too.

Medusa, this may be a weird request, but I'd love to see a "before" picture of you. Since I'm still new here, I haven't been able to see the magical style transformation that you seem to have had!

MC, I like your idea. Basically, my "before" outfit was jeans and a black top almost every day. Maybe I'll put together a before/after thread with some pieces that aren't new, but I'm wearing in new ways.
