Italy Earthquake

I don't know if any YLF members are in Italy but my heart is sad for so many right now who have lost loved ones and lost their town. Amatrice was such a beautiful historic place.

Thank you Textyle for asking, you are very dear. I am Italian but I live in the Northern area and the earthquake was in Central Italy. I do not know, are there YLF members there? The news are terrible. I am very sad.

Italy is one of my very favorite places, and I was distressed to hear the news about Amatrice. What a terrible thing to happen in such a lovely place. One feels so helpless at times like this, but I'm praying for the victims and their survivors.

Chirico lives in Italy. I think further southwest of there, closer to Rome. I hope she's ok too.

I was woken up by the quake, but here we are quite far and there was no damage. The towns were wiped down. It's terribile, the Number of deaths increased during the whole day. Husband and I are selecting warm clothes to send, hoping this would help, since so many people will have to sleep in tents...

First come the people, then the buildings, but there is also the long term damage of a destroyed economy, since in these villages the main resource is tourism... It's bad on so many levels...

I'm relieved to hear that you and your families are alright, Chiara and Sisi.
My heart goes out to everyone impacted, both in Italy and Myanmar. One feels so powerless, and as Chiara mentioned the long-term effects are horrendous too.
