Hey family how are you all doing?

I know it has been a while but I’ve had a lot going on. Life seems to get so real at the moment. So I was diagnosed with throat cancer after a biopsy and many test to see what was wrong with me. I alway imagined that this would not be my life but having had so many family members that have had different forms I guess it is unavoidable.

Now here I am almost 45 single mom with an almost 2 year old. I’m trying not to think to much about it but don’t really have close friends to vent to so I’m venting here. I don’t feel sad and surprisingly I’m able to laugh in the midst of. Literally taking one day at a time.

If you can please send up a short prayer or good vibes as we start this new journey.

Yeah, what do they say? Keep calm and carry on. Being a professional patient myself, it’s like, yeah. I mean, I don’t know, no time or purpose being sad. Still alive after all.

I will do a novena (nine days of prayer) for ya.

Solidarity from another single mom! I never feared for my own mortality until someone did a jerk move in traffic soon after my son was born. He wasn't even with me, but my immediate thought was for his safety--if something happened to me. So I hear you on receiving this news as a single mom, and my heart goes out to you.

I'm sure you know already that you have to fight like hell to get the care you deserve--make them recognize and treat what's going on with you. Many forms of cancer are curable these days--my sister told me recently that our mom had told both my sisters that hers was very curable and she really wasn't even worried about the death sentence it once would have been. It's been over 5 years now and she's plugging along as well as you'd hope an octogenarian would. I hope your treatment and recovery go well too.

Good on you for being able to laugh! Whatever happens, your daughter has soaked up joy and strength from you her whole life thus far, and will benefit from that the rest of her life.

Oh Ledonna, I'm so sorry you are going through this.
