Delurked - I think it is worth trying to become more comfortable in sleeveless tops. They are SO comfortable. And I personally feel they look so much more dressy than short sleeved tops. They are a favorite during the summer months (and you don't have to launder them as often!).
I say this because sometimes someone in our past said something that made us think we couldn't or shouldn't wear a certain garment. That is rubbish. Try to overcome it and embrace it. My Mother always said I couldn't wear any garment that exposed my very skinny legs/arms. I believed her for many years. Then one day I was suddenly over it. I never looked back. I hope you don't either.
