I am desperately in search of toppers, but I really am not sure where to look.

I have a really hard time with jackets. While I have sloping shoulders, the, ah, girls, are not in line. So anything that fits through the shoulders has no chance of ever closing. Ever. While I know you can wear jackets unbuttoned, I like the option of being able to button them. An armor of sorts. Also, the fit over the girls tends to be so bad it looks sloppy. Most of my pre pregnancy jackets don't fit, and I am not sure they ever will again.

Also. Boxier looks, while on trend, tend to look tent like on me. Maybe I can pull them off, but they always sort of hit the girls and fall straight down.

I have tended towards cardigans because of this, but they add seem to add a bit more frump.

As I am look through my wardrobe, this is probably my single biggest hole.

What about waterfall cardigans or even a furry vest like Shannon has? Also, have you tried v-neck cardigans? I feel like they have less frump factor than traditional round-necked cardigans.

I am like you, jackets do not work for me because the girls refuse to be locked and loaded! I have just renewed my interest in cardigans (v-necked ones only!) as I find they fit my style and look good with my outfits for work.

Just a suggestion but if I were you I'd start with a really good bra fitting - you would be amazed what a talented fitter & the right bra can do. A friend of mine with really sloping shoulders also puts small removable shoulder pads into all her jackets (that's in addition to the ones already there) it works well for her & she never looks like a reject from Dynasty.

I would second the suggestion for the bra fitting before anything else. Angie always recommends it....and she is always right!

But, my new size is a 36 (7D). I have to go to a specialty boutique or on line to find them.

Do you think that knit jackets could work, Thistle? They have a little more give, which could help with the fit and feel.
There are all sorts of knitted jackets out there these days, moto style, blazers, bomber jackets...

I am looking for business casual for work. So dressed up enough for work, but not full on suit.

I have sloping shoulders and a full bust. Leather jackets because of the give of leather and they way they mold do better for me in general.

Knit, low stance might be easier to fit, and because it's short it would highlight your small waist. I haven't actually seen this jacket though.

I really like the look of that halogen one. I have this one, from Target

and I liked the fit so much that I got it in two more colors. I find the way the front cuts away, instead of being straight across, helps it not look boxy. It also has almost a peplum look in the back. The burgundy and black ones have become staples for me. The grey one is not as pictured, unless I got a second. Mine is more blue than grey.

That's right, Thistle! As I wrote my earlier note I was wracking my brains asking myself if it was you who had the amazing bra transformation. (And it was....should have gone in search of your earlier thread....)

So..in that case, I absolutely second the recommendation to try some knit jackets. That is a great idea - you would get a bit more structure going yet wouldn't feel so badly boxed in.

I second Anna's suggestion to also try leather jackets, they add structure without feeling too constricted (or you could try a leather mixed media jacket with different fabric sleeves).

Thistle, a snow day is a perfect excuse for some internet shopping with free shipping. Usually Target offers free shipping over $50 and you can take returns to the store. It's so much easier that way because their stores are so hit or miss with stock.
