ISO good quality longsleeved t-shirts

I really need some new basic layering shirts to wear under wool sweaters, dresses, cardigans and so on. It would be great if they were substantial enough to also wear them on their own. Everything I bought in the past was worn out after a year or so and it would be great if the new stuff would last longer. Do you have any recommendations (EU only)? Thanks!

I'm also interested in this! For such a simple item, I have the darndest time finding them. I've had occasional luck with Promod, I bought a grey l/s tee from there this autumn, and it's ok, but it's 5% elastan and I really really really prefer the feel of 100% cotton, even if they do get stretched out easier. But I think their tees might be a bit too thin/sheerish for what you want.

Thanks Fieldmouse! I have a look at Promod from time to time, but I have to say I have not been as satisfied with their quality. I had two Promod skirts I bought almost then years ago that still aren't worn out! My sister has them now because they're too small for me. Their stuff now can't compare.

I always have good luck with long-sleeved tees from Peek & Cloppenburg (a Dutch retail chain with stores in Germany as well). They have a number of house brands, I just checked for you and my tees (they are all striped, surprise, surprise, but they sell them in solid colours too are "Montego" and Marco Pecci. Both brands are reasonably priced and quite durable.

I only see short-sleeved ones online, but I'm sure they'll have long-sleeved options in the brick-and-mortar stores:

I really struggle with tees. I have to find a brand of 100% cotton that doesn't stretch and fade for women. I have two brands for men!

Just bought last week and looks like they will last a while and very comfortable 100% cotton

Thanks Ceit and Stuti! We don't have Gap stores, but ordering at gap.eu should be unproblematic if I manage to work out my size.

Inge, thanks for checking your tees for me! I'll definitely try P&C then, I might even have a look today on my way home.

Thistle, I agree it isn't easy to find some nice ones. I've even tried spending more on tees in the past, but higher price wasn't equal higher quality most of the time, unfortunately.

Okay, I tried P&C and they had some solid colored longsleeved ones, but the fit was off - I think I was between sizes. I also had another look at GAP and unfortunately I can't order there because I don't have a credit card.

Oddly enough, my two favorites are from H&M from about 4 years ago. Not sure if that is available to you?

Thanks Janet. We do have H&M, yes. The only thing I bought there in the last few years was my denim jacket though, I think their quality isn't as good as it once was. I shopped a lot of H&M in my teens.

Yeah, I was wondering if the current shirts available would be as good as the ones from a few years back. It's funny, I've had more success with their tee knits than with anything else from there, maybe because my expectations for the longevity of tees are pretty low!

Try the UK brand Oasis. They do have some stores in Germany (I saw one in München, so Berlin should have something too I'd expect). I have a few of their layering shirts which are rather thin though - not tissue thin, but nowhere near as substantial as your regular H&M one for example. But this makes them great for layering.

I also find the shirts from H&M's LOGG I bought years ago are still going strong - good quality stretchy cotton. I no longer buy tees and don't know if LOGG still has the same range, but that would be my first choice.

Ornella, those LOGG ones are the ones I have! Nice color selection too, IIRC. Years down the road, I have only just now demoted one to loungewear. The other is a favorite for hiking/ultracasual wear.

Thanks Ornella! Looked the LOGG shirts up and they now seem to be made with a 40% polyester content. Don't like it. I'm going to look up Oasis now.

Okay, seems like the only Oasis store is in Munich. There's always online shopping of course.
