So ideally I'd like a Veronica Beard blazer with the dickie, but in my current chunky/curviness it ain't happening.
And my current blazers don't fit.
Probably black...(I know, sorry Angie), on the shorter side and fitted.
Here's some inspiration outfits, I know some are longer.

ETA I probably need a 14 or 16 depending.

Some of these look like tuxedo jackets with the satin lapels. Are you looking for something more like that or like the more traditional pinstripe one shown first in the second batch?

Either way, I'll be watching this thread. I have found this kind of thing difficult to find in cusp sizes.

Everything here is pretty and I think the structure a jacket will give to your look is an excellent idea and black could be a great choice!

Anna I'm on my phone nydj size 14 amazon.com. I looked up tuxedo jackets. It's very inexpensive, but I have a blazer by them and I love it.

H&M? Obviously their store stock is going to vary but I'm seeing some nice options on the website, including some plus size options. The regular size range looks like it goes to 14 or 16 for most of them. And bonus: v inexpensive!

I feel like it's only a matter of time until h&m does a dickey blazer knockoff... and for the record I have tried the real VB dickey blazer and found it really boxy.

Do you ever shop at Loft?

This navy blazer has been fabulous for me, particularly for the length (hitting below the hip bone). They don't have in black *yet* but they often revisit their pieces in different colors. So might be worth keeping an eye on their site as they release their fall stuff!

anna -not sure if this CPW one will work (sizes up to L)..its shown with a black dickey, but think i've seen it with white somewhere, just couldn't "find" it this morning. if you're looking for a something more tux like (as some of your inspirational pictures showed) this after six one may work (sizes up to 18)
