Is this too midi? - YouLookFab Forum

I got this skirt with a bunch of other stuff I want feedback on (will post them later), but I'm trying to coordinate my outfit for a family portrait today. I would have posted sooner but we've been traveling for Thanksgiving. (Ah, the joys of travel with a toddler.)

Anyway, the color of the skirt is perfect but I'm not sure of the fit. I'd been wanting a midi and a sunray pleat skirt. The skirt isn't quite sunray but I haven't found one that is a color other than black and I much prefer this color. It's kind of close enough to work for me. It is definitely midi but I'm a bit unsure of the length given this is my first foray into the look again since it's come back.

Sorry about the lack of styling and, well, just about everything else. You do what you gotta do. So is this a keeper?

The colour is lovely. I do wonder if the problem might be the lack of styling? I know you are probably very busy running around after a toddler, but could you throw on a pair of heals and repost?

And slightly off topic, are you getting a professional portrait done? It is on my to do list and I love seeing how other small families are posed.

No way; I think it's awesome and the colour looks great on you! I'd throw on a dark top with a pair of heels and it'd look awesome!

It's a beautiful color and the skirt fits well. i'm with london, you need to style it, and with this length a think you need a heel, one with a low vamp. Do you plan to tuck? A nice belt over something tucked would look very polished.
And yes, I sympathize about the joys of travelling with a toddler. Our youngest is 6 and it is still a challenge (our travels usually involve between 5 and 8 hours strapped into a carseat). I love the invention of the DVD player in the veichle.

I think once you have it styled it will look marvelous. I'm totally crazy about that color this year - so luscious and the perfect shade to pair with other "autumn colors." I like the length on you a lot.

My first inkling would be to pair it with a plain black top, a simple necklace or scarf, and either boots or low-vamp heels - nothing too detailed so that the lovely pleating of the skirt can take center strage.

The skirt is a good length on you. Like the others, I think once you start to style it, you'll find quite a few ways to wear it. I'd like to see it with another colour, not just black.

I think you found a great skirt. I can see it with grey, black, cream, or cognac. I'd probably wear a sleek fitted turtleneck. It's going to look wonderful.

Look at the color. It's sooooooo gorgeous. Plus, that pleated line makes it look super feminine and stunning.
