Is this the right denim jacket for me?

Had to run by the mall today and saw the Jag denim jacket that Angie posted a while back. This is a petite in size small. I'm not sure if it's cropped enough? What do you all think? In work clothes here so not styled.

It looks good to me open, not sure about closed? And i don't think it looks *that* cropped?

The fit is great but it doesn't look very cropped in the pictures if cropped is what your after. Mine isn't very cropped either but I plan to get a second one that will be more cropped. I do like it on you!

I think it looks great open with pants. If you want to be able to button it, I would size up.

If you want it to wear with skirts and dresses, maybe more cropped would be better. If you're still in Nordstrom, I recommend trucking up to the juniors section to try the BP jacket that Angie also recommended. I tried both of those and preferred the BP one.

Thanks ladies! I wouldn't wear it closed - not sure why I took a picture that way! LOL!

I think I'm going to try out the BP one - I don't think this one is cropped enough.

I've realized that due to my height (or lack of), "cropped" on me is 16" or shorter in length. Most so-called cropped jackets are between 18 - 20" and look like yours does on me. It's a very nice fit on you - however, I'd go for more cropped if that's what you want.

BTW, I just found three cropped denim jackets at the thrift store. The juniors brands are easier to find.

I think this one would work with pants (my pants-length denim jacket looks like this on me), but not cropped enough for skirts/dresses. So depends on what you want to wear it with

I agree with Aida - the fit on this jacket is really good and the length would work well with pants, but a shorter one would be better with skirts and dresses.

Love the jacket and see it working with pants really well, but perhaps not so well with skirts. Maybe you need two?

Well of *course* I need two Deborah! So, this one is okay for pants, probably won't work as well with skirts/dresses. I really need to think through where/when I am going to wear it. Pretty much only on the weekends - and I rarely wear skirts or dresses then. But I tend to wear jeans on the weekends and I probably won't wear jeans with the jacket. Hmmm... do I need a denim jacket?

I do need some kind of casual jacket to throw on for the weekends - if not denim, then what?

Brenda & Christieanne - thanks for the suggestion. A white denim jacket just might be the place for me to start.

Una, thank you for the measurements that tend to work for you and the heads up about thrifting them. That might be a good place to buy my first and then see how much wear I get out of a blue denim jacket.

Did you try h&m, f21 or American Eagle? They seem to have really cropped denim jackets.

Rita, thanks for the suggestions! I'll need to give those a try - I just happened to see this one and thought I'd give it a shot and I don't think it's *quite* what I want. I'm going to keep looking for a more cropped style.
