Is this sweater too casual or is it cute?

I have some store credit for Eddie Bauer from a returned Xmas gift and I'm thinking about this sweater. Most of the clothes from EB is a little too boxy on me, especially their woven, button down shirts and blazers. I could see wearing this little sweater with a cute tee or casual top, jeans or clams and ballet flats or fashion sneakers.

I do not need more loungewear though. So if it's only appropriate for staying home, I need to pick something else.

I think it would be ok for running errands...Im just not a big fan of hoodies in general, to be honest...what color are you considering?

I have a few of these sweaters; I usually wear them at home or as layerwear for getting through those -45 days... I vote pick something else

I was thinking of the off-white. Ugh. I really do not need another wear at home piece. I need casual-smart casual.

I like those tanks. And, fwiw, I would wear that sweater for casual (not at home) wear. If you wear it with ill-fitting jeans and sneakers, you would look too casual; conversely, if you pair it with well-fitting jeans and cute shoes and accessories, I think it would look nice (as long as it fit well).

I like those dresses, but I've had not such good luck with anything "fitted" or woven from EB. I do ok with stretchy stuff like sweaters and basic tees. Doesn't look like either dress got very good reviews. I might try one anyway, just to see how it does on me.

I like those tops better....I really like the green dress CRW posted too. The denim one would look better without all the fading (I guess Ive just totally burned out on that look, plus it highlights heavier areas on me.)

I don't think the hooded sweater is too casual as long as you are mindful of what you pair it with. But those chiffon tanks are great! Perfect way to step up a casual look!

I have a similar hoodie sweater from about 4 years ago that felt fresh at the time but is now relegated to around-the-house wear. So my vote would be no. Sorry!

I think it looks realllllllly casual. Do you like the short sleeved cropped shine cardigan they have? That looks comfy AND smart. You'd look adorable in an outfit similar to the model.

I vote nay on the hoodie. The tanks are really cute and probably very versatile; they would definitely fit into the smart-casual category, but could be dressed down too. I think you would get a lot of milage out of them.

I did see the motorcycle jacket, Kristine. It's tempting. I really like the look. But, I have order a navy cardi and a navy blazer in the last week...should I have a navy motojacket too?

I'm late here, but I am purging (read: bringing to our cabin!) several hoodies like this which just don't seem to meet the smart casual standard. I like having one to throw on around the house, but don't feel I can pull them off as anything but gear elsewhere. I definitely have to resist the appeal of hoodies so I sympathize!

Well I love it but maybe that is why I'm on here trying to learn something! To me, it seems like a versatile workhorse that is never going to be dressy but would be neat, tidy, and fun if you style it right.
