Is this soul-sucking beige?

I'm debating on whether I should get a new trench for this fall.
My current one is military style (no belt) olive green one from Juicy Couture.

I don't think so. From the picture, the color has enough depth to avoid being that mealy oatmeal color that I see as soul-sucking beige. The caramel trim definitely helps as well.

My experience with beige is that on me, almost ANY beige is soul-sucking, whereas on other people, it can look SO fab and NOT soul-sucking. So....I would try, with fingers crossed!

Not at all, especially with the cognac trim. But remember that i do not think there is such a thing as soul- sucking beige anymore than soul-sucking fuschia on a very pale woman with light brown hair.

The color does have depth. great coat!!

When I clicked through I was actually expecting much worse. That's really a nice color with the style and trim. I'd totally give it a shot.

ITA with Jean. I definitely think you should try it, it's the only way to know how that beige works with your skintone. It might look great.

This is a darker color than what I think of when anyone mentions "soul-sucking beige". I think it would look really good on you. Great coat!

I think it leans more toward taupe. You'd have to try it on to be sure, though. Not everyone looks bad in beige anyway.

I have had so many coats in this color family; I kept wanting them to work so badly, but most were under-worn, and eventually donated.

No wonder I like it, those Mackage jackets and coats are so nice. The shoulder detail on the back is lovely. Nice coat, and the color looks rich.
