Is this shoulder minimizing?

Yes, I'm still on the hunt for layering tops. I saw this at ON today. What do you think of this style versus the soft raglan sleeve? I *think* it looks good but I'm not 100% sure. Would live your opinion. Thanks!

Yep. When the colorblocking falls exactly right, it works for us. Also I'm finding that dropped sleeves (where the seam is well past my shoulder) work well as long as the garment itself doesn't have an IT shape.

You know that downplaying my IT shoulders is a big priority for me. This looks FAB. BBQ! Looks great with your cropped jeans and gladiators.

Wow! Thanks! I didn't buy it but now I am going to. It meets all of my requirements in terms of cost, color, fit, layering potential, and washability! (This is M in case anyone is wondering about sizing.)

I was overwhelmed by all of the long sleeve tops I saw at the mall today. H&M, ON, Target--sassy sweatshirts and long sleeve sweaters galore!

ETA: Stock photo. Isn't it weird how different the color block on the shoulders look on the model? I wonder if the sample was different than what was mass produced?

I didn't really analyze the shoulders, but it looks amazing. So go for it!

I think another feature is the "nude" upper color block which opens up a faux low neckline look, so it gives you breathing space there, but the black parts still bring out your hair coloring and so you're not washed out as a pure beige or camel might.

This is very interesting. I like this one from AT (except for the price), but thought it wouldn't work for my rectangular shoulders. Now I'm all confused about what does and doesn't work!

Thanks, All, for confirming my suspicions. I really liked it but didn't trust myself enough to buy. I will definitely pick it up next time I go in.
@Unfrumped: You make an excellent point about the faux neckline. I normally don't love crew necks on me unless they end around my collarbones. I think the color blocking makes this much more flattering than a plain crew neck. Great observation.
@sarah: I love the cashmere sweater you linked. I think if you are trying to de-emphasize your square shoulders, it may not work. That being said, I think it would look fab on square shoulders--I am trying to de-emphasize mine so I don't look like Lurch.
