Is this jacket soul sucking beige?

It's alot more than I want to pay for a light colored jacket, but it's a very nice kind of cropped shape and actually comes in my size! I've tried on a ton of light colored jackets this spring and summer and they are just not fitting my petite apple frame. I might have to try this one if it passes the YLF test.

I don't think so, MG -- it's "light heather gray," a cooler tone than soul-sucking beige. How do you do with cooler colors?

@April, I'm not sure about cool vs. warm tones. I am typically drawn to very saturated colors, I'm not too clear on how this light color would look on me. I might duck into a jcrew at lunch to try it on. I'm sure they won't have my size in store but at least I'll see how the color works for me.

Not soul-sucking beige at all!

I think you're safe from soul-sucking when it's not too close to your own beige-ish skin tones, and this is in the greys.

I hope you're pleasantly surprised when you check it out.

BTW, I object to your "yay/nay" as vague and ambiguous! Does "yay" mean "yes, it's soul sucking beige?" or "Yay! I like it!"?

I don't think so - it's listed as a heather grey. But the heather part would concern me with my color needs. I think you should try it - the only issue I have with j. crew is their expensive shipping.

They didn't have it, or really another other suits except black in the store. I may have to order it if I don't find anything else.

I don't think this is what has come to be referred to as soul-sucking beige. Having said that, I think that flattering colors are highly dependent on the skintone of the wearer. What is soul-sucking beige on one person could be a low-contrast look that brings the features of another person to life.
