Is this jacket on trend?

I tried this jacket on the other day. I wasn't sure about the size I tried on and the shop didn't have another size I could try. I do like it, but wonder if it is on trend. It will be a summer jacket for cool evenings. It is also a bit pricey for me and will have to have some longevity - does it?

Would it be better if it was in white?

If this jacket is an option, what is the ideal length for this style?

Your thoughts and comments will be greatly appreciated.

ETA: Just saw the one in #2. Is it more on trend?

I must leave the trend judgments to others. But I wanted to say I like both jackets and add a couple of observations:
The white looks more summery to me, with the color, the length, and the lack of hood. It looks like you could wear it as an indoor or outdoor jacket.
The ecru one looks more like an outdoor jacket, and I could see it working late spring through early fall.
I think the first jacket might have more longevity; it seems more classic around the collar and shoulder lines.
Which jacket's proportions work best on you and with your wardrobe? I think the shorter jacket might go better with dresses than the longer one, but otherwise, I'd say go with what you like best on you.

I tried the one in #1 on again today - still like it. Unfortunately the store didn't have the white one in stock.

I think I will have to go on a bit of a hunt to see what else is available.

i like #1 a lot, and i think that color is great. light and airy, the model is wearing it with white and it looks great. i would consider this color

#1 looks like it won't work with dresses. #2 may not work with pants. Which one works better for you depends on what you're planning to wear with the jacket. The white jacket can make off-white items look dirty. (Ask me how I know.) Are either/both of them machine washable?

I agree with firecracker and DonnaF 1 looks more classic the scruncing of the sleeves makes it trendy. The hood is removable yes? 2, I would consider a modern classic and maybe more likely to date, would look great in summer with skirts. What is your sweet spot regarding a straight horizontal line cutting across you mid regions?
