Echoing Isabel, I don't get it either, from any point of view. So wrong.

ohh..I don't like that at all

I had not seen that Dakota Fanning add! OMG, holding a giant flower between her legs?? Are you serious??

It's really disturbing and hugely confusing. I also think it's a large reason why women are more and more turning to blogs like this one in preference to the magazines. I know many people read both, of course. But I can't be bothered any more myself. I know the mags are selling a fantasy...but this is one fantasy I don't want to buy. And I can't tell what the clothes would look like, so I don't want to buy them, either!

It's unanimous -- 33 responses so far, all saying this is inappropriate (to say the least) rather than fashion. I worry about the preteens and teens that read French Vogue -- nevermind the unsavory characters -- that are influenced by these images. Apparently the 10-year-old girl has a facebook page with over 700 fans on it since the issue was released.
What were her parents thinking -- other than fame and money!
Isabel (MA) brings up a good point about Willow Smith too. And TylerAnne about Dakota Fanning. One step away from kiddie porn.

eh NO, this is just food for the pedophiles out there.

Actually, just a couple weeks ago, I stayed at a hotel where they were having a kid pageant competition. I saw the moms coming and going with their kids, as young as babies, wearing skimpy outfits, heavy makeup, false teeth, wigs, false eyelashes etc. I thought of my daughter at home and wondered why? especially when I saw the judges, eowww, there was this older gentleman who looked so creepy.... not my cup of tea.

The only good thing about this thread is that it's adding some new brands to the list of those I'm avoiding. Which helps my shopping immensely.

Sadly nothing that French Vogue does surprises me! Echoing you all, this is so inappropriate. A child of 10 should be having fun at school, playing with friends and their toys.. just being a child. I hate to think what foundation is being laid for this little girls future. I also don't get the point of it. Its not like Im going look at a 10 year old modeling clothing and think 'ooh I must try that''... it just doesn't translate.
