I have a medium-dark complexion and I don't think it would suit me... but I second Vildy's suggestion of trying on something in a similar colour to see if it works!

Hmm, I don't have time to find the color before the auction ends. I'm not that concerned about it being real, just because *I* wouldn't be able to tell the difference, anyway.

I used to have a long blazer in a very similar color that I liked, but it was a petite size and gave it up because the sleeves were too short. Here is yet another turquoise item I have, not the exact color, but an approximation.

You look good in the linked blazer. You also have on a buffer color and that's often a save.
Also, many colors that are difficult to wear for a person can be worn in *some* textures.
IOW, if matte doesn't work, maybe a sheen or a velvet and vice versa.

That is a cute trench! To be honest, think I'd prefer you in a more saturated turquoise...but I'm probably biased since I am not crazy about that particular color.

The lighting and photo can make a huge difference too. Can you try and return if you don't like it?

Rae; I don't think it is the lightness that is giving you pause. The coat is a cool turquoise, whereas your jacket is a warmer turquoise -- at least on my monitor. With the warmth in your skin tone which is much like my husband's, a warmer turquoise would be more flattering. Cute coat and I love the color, but IMHO, it would be better on pinkier skin. I don't think it would be bad on you, but it wouldn't be a *10*. For example, I don't think that color would go with your citrons which DO flatter you, and so in that way would signal that it is slightly "off."

I'd pass Rae - I think the color is too unsaturated for you plus I don't like the shape of the trench. It is too narrow past the waist, as opposed to a subtle A line. That style usually looks pretty strange on us, "bottom curvy" gals. Also, the seller is on the Netherlands. It would cost you an arm and a leg to ship back, even if he/she takes returns. The issue of authenticity bothers me too.
ETA: Unsaturated based on my monitor's resolution.

Well, that answers that! Thank you, everyone, for your quick and honest replies. I'm still kind of new to color and also new to buying better stuff rather than whatever happens upon me at the swap meet.

The comments about saturated color got me thinking that I'd like to have one in jade green, but I don't see anything on offer. Colors are tricky!

I like this one, too, but amazingly there is no LOFT close to me.

I think the color could work for you but maybe a deeper color would be better - for some reason it seems like the light color needs to be a shorter trench jacket. I guess it's the "spring like" color.
