Is this awesome or ridiculous?

I sent back some things that weren't right, including this Harvey's Seatbelt bag (#1) which was too small. I think the listed dimensions were wrong. I am looking for a light grey or navy crossbody bag.

I went to Macy's to look at this Coach bag (#2). It is on massive discount. But it turned out to be pretty small.

I happened on this colorblock Fossil bag (#3). It is also on massive discount. I like the colors, I just had in my mind that I'd get a solid color bag. For some reason, though, I was attracted to it. Do you think it's awesome or ridiculous?

Let me preface this by saying I'm not a bag person so don't know what the current looks are. That being said, I really like this. I almost bought something very similar from Aldo last year, but it was oddly shaped (too thin).

I love colour block bags. Love them. I don't think it is ridiculous at all. I think it is awesome. And if you need a big bag, then this would be wonderful.

How do you feel about the brown handles? I think they look a bit sporty. That's not a bad thing because I think it coheres with your overall style really well. I only mention this because the bag is quite different in feel from the silver one you also showed. (I had my eye on that bag, too, by the way, but decided against it for the reason you did -- I need a biggish bag.)

I have also seen those seat belt bags. I love the concept. But when I picked one up it was SO HEAVY. I couldn't put it down fast enough. It wasn't big enough for me anyway.

ETA: I use my colourblock bags mostly in summer. They work to integrate outfits that include dark and light elements. I liked them with my blonde hair and I think I will like them even more with my grey hair.

I like it but to me I want either one set of handles or the strap; looks a little awkward to me with both, and I do prefer the handles to the strap.

I love the colours in the colour block bag. However, I don't care for the handles sitting so prominently and stiffly when one wears it cross body style. It seems pretty big to be wearing x-body style anyways, no?

I love the color-block bag. I'd probably carry it as a satchel rather than as a crossbody, though (just a personal preference). The shoulder strap is convenient, though, if you need to be hands-free.

It's a nice tote, but I thought you weren't crazy about carrying things? i'm with Aida in thinking those handles might be a nuisance if you prefer using the strap.

Suz, I have a BIG seatbelt bag, in charcoal. It is kind of heavy. I thought the one I returned would have been a little bit smaller, but this one was really small. I hate having to fit my things in like it's some kind of puzzle. The Coach one would have been that way too. Brown handles. Hmm, I'm not sure. Actually I wondered about that, and also, they don't fold down. I'll have to think about that.

Aida, yes, that occurred to me. I prefer cross body, though.

Lisa, the colors are what attracted me. The handles should fold down. Here's my seatbelt bag. It's really big.

Xtabay, that's a good idea! I need to be hands free in the grocery store. That's what I always think of.

Gaylene, you're right. That's why I nearly always wear a crossbody bag. The handles may be a deal breaker.

Love the color combo! However, if you're going to carry it like a crossbody bag, I bet those short handles get in the way every time you go to reach for your wallet.

Yes, if the handles don't fold down then they can be annoying. I left a bag on the shelf at Winner's last week for precisely that reason.

Agreeing with all. Love the colours of the bag but I think the handles are a bit big if you prefer to wear it cross body. I would use it more as a tote.

Brooklyn, if I were used to carrying a tote, it would probably be perfect. I really like the colors. Oh well.

I like that coach bag a lot.just because it is a bit dressier than the fossil one. It also seems more versatile (from an outfit completer perspective) but if it is too small then it is too small.

Shedev, the seatbelt bags come in black..

Smittie, the Coach bag is small. I specifically went to Macy's to buy it. When I saw it, I realized it wouldn't work. I have a long slim wallet and I wasn't sure it would fit very well.

Macy's tip: the Macy's online price was less than the instore price. But I had taken a screenshot showing the bag and the price, and the SA told me they would honor the lower price, had I bought the Coach bag.

I really like the bag. I would take off the long strap and carry the bag over my arm or in my hand by the handles. I would keep the strap and use it for travel, going through an airport, for example.

If the price was right and you really like it, maybe it's worth trying out the tote style!
