Is there any theory by which these are office appropriate? ETA: +pics

1- Following my not-so-stellar results with the Matisse bootie in dalmation, these jumped out at me. Higher heel (hidden platform brings it up to 3.5 inches), rounded toe, smaller and less animal-like pattern. This almost looks more like stingray to me from afar, though they are still calf hair leather.

2-3- Pics of the style on feet. Couldn't find pics of the spotty ones on feet. Hmm...

Or maybe with sheer tights and a pencil skirt?

Or maybe with those slouchy trousers, if they work out?

Of course these look more rugged than Angie's. I'm guessing I'm probably off my gourd here, trying too hard to make a casual item dressy. But maybe not... I get confused now that I'm trying to buy stuff I love to take with me to work. o_0

UPDATE: I couldn't get back to sleep this morning, so I did some mockups with a front shot of the boots (they look much lighter on that product page), and they really do seem too hard to style. And the store I was looking at doesn't offer free returns, so I guess I'm going to pass. Sigh... looked so much better in my head. :T

UPDATE #2: Now I'm all turned around again. Added some more promo pics of the style on feet and the white booties in natrual light. Possibly they aren't as bright as the pic I used for my mockups. Pic #10 has me especially re-evaluating the office possibilities.

Hmm . .I don't care for the hidden platform, although I think it depends if they show the definition like in 3-- otherwise it could look a little hoof-ish.

I love the ideia of a skirt and nude hose, just keep the rest of the look classy and simple, lets say, pencil black skirt and cream silk blouse or a LBD with nude hose and the booties!
I can see the booties also with a bootcut black trousers!

I for one don't see why you wouldn't be able to make them work for the office, Rae. (the booties are lovely!). The Angie outfit you linked to certainly would be a great start.
I think they will also work with the slouchy trousers you have on order.
Or how about pairing them with a sheath dress, a button-down shirt and self-patterned hose?

I'm not sure about these boots -- you'd have to work hard to bookend them somehow. They seem pretty casual. Have you seen the halogen animal wedges at nordstroms? They are more office-y to my eye, not booties though.

While, I think the style can certainly be *most* office appropriate, I wonder whether the overall lightness will end up being more work than they're worth (i.e. modgrl's comment).

Also, I'm curious about that hidden wedge. Does your overall look still seem natural, or does the change in pitch seem unusual?

Maybe you better get them and check it all out. . .

Actually, I'm suddenly really interested in a few of the 80%20 styles, and wish someone had experience with the brand.

Those are great booties. I'd wear them to the office on Fridays but probably not other days. The shape of the heel plus it's fabrication (the wood look) combine to make them look casual to me.

I definitely think you could make them office appropriate but i think you are right to wait until you can find some with free return shipping in case they dont fit well.

I think they look really fun! Too bad you decided they won't work as I planned to live vicariously through your cool shoes. I see nothing wrong with wearing them to the office in theory, but if you can't come up with outfits you like, then I guess it doesn't matter.

I'm really into the dalmatian pattern. I don't think they looked bad at all, but they do look *shocking* and not like you're in charge of running the world. I like the other boots here too. I think you could wear all of them to the office... I've worn my dalmatian shoes into my ultra-conventional workplace, where I think even tan boots come off as a little suspect... Unless you're a banker.

Well, now I'm turned around again. Between Angie and Rachylou, I'm tempted all over again! I wish I could tell which photo is most accurate for color.

I like #5 the best because of the bookending. But yeah they seem a bit casual for Monday through Thursday.
