Is the worlds most expensive handbag ugly?

We all know money can not buy taste and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder so I'm asking you to vote is the worlds most expensive handbag ugly?

and the value, just a trifle under $4 million (in it's defense it did take 10 jewellers 1100 hours to complete)

LOL I gotta say I'm not a fan. I can appreciate the craftsmanship, but that much bling makes my head hurt.

I'm pretty sure that the "world's most expensive ANYTHING" would probably be ugly. I learned a long time ago that those who have money do not always have taste to match.

I have a Mary Frances bag too, which I love, but maybe it's not a good sign when something with that high of a price tag brings to mind the phrase "rip-off."

It's not my taste but it's not downright ugly, either. Definitely not worth the money (but what handbag would be?). But not outright ugly.

I'm not loving it, but I can appreciate it. I assumed at first that it was an antique... but I'm guessing by your comments that it is new? If that is the case then I don't appreciate it quite as much.

Wow! It is stunning.

You would have to be uber-wealthy to carry this piece. Otherwise, like Una mentioned, it would look silly and suspected as cheap.

Also, it would require its own insurance policy.

Hearts are a little sweet for my taste, I'd much rather have something sleek. The center piece makes me think of a jelly doughnut or something. So it's not for me, although I wouldn't think of it as completely ugly. Cute maybe. Aw, what a cute 4 million dollar purse!

I also don't particularly like this bag for MANY reasons, but mostly because it just looks as if it is "trying too hard" - I know, it's a bag, not a person.

There is just nothing spectacular or unique or well designed about it except that it is dripping in jewels.

I agree with Isabel completely. This bag relies too much on bling but leaves a lot to be desired in terms of design.

And in any case, anyone who would actually buy that bag ought to be ashamed of themselves.

I don't like it but I've seen uglier things. I did not judge it at all from a price standpoint, just how it looked.

The whole trend of excessive bling and embellishments on clothing kind of sickens me. My guilty pleasure reality show is "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." There is an unbelievable amount of ugly, expensive stuff they wear on that show!

Bling overload! I DO appreciate the craftsmanship and artistry involved, but it just doesn't thrill me at all nor does it fight into my lifestyle. No Bentley or Rolls in MY garage!

Deb, LOL about the Real Housewives comment! That show is simply totally mindless entertainment and a true guilty pleasure to watch. La La land is right! And there's so much cleavage it is blinding!

I'm allergic to heart-shaped anything and the bling reminds me of those silly diamond encrusted bras that Victoria's Secret trots out every Christmas. Conspicuous consumption at its tackiest, sorry. :/

OMG !! I also love the "REAL" Housewives...of any city. ( DEB _ I cracked up at your comment, it should be the Real Housewives of Lalaland ! ) It drives my husband bananas that I "support" them by watching them. But I once heard the new female Supreme Court Judge say about the Housewives, everyone needs a little trash in their lives, it's fun !

Anyway, Bella !!! Yes, allergic reactions. I love it. Not only do I not like hearts, I don't do well with blinged out Hello Kitty. It could put me in an anaphylactic state.

hm... just a big meh. it's not necessarily ugly and I don't find the bling on it as brash as some other stuff that's out there... in fact the whole heart shape makes it innocent somehow. and yet, stylistically is neither here nor there. the design is completely uninspiring (to me at least) and so it's value comes from all the precious stones. then again, i don't particularly care for heart shaped objects (unless my mom gave them to me, then I swallow my taste preferences and cherish the item :))
