I know, I know. I just think it's so weird that we have them to begin with. I love baking but pies aren't really my thing. I'm a cake gal through and through. Anyway, I'd rather not use beans to fill my bag. Somehow it just seems wrong.
I'm sure you get what you pay for with tailors. Now I'm more sure than ever. In theory I like the idea of getting clothes to fit you perfectly, but in practice it is just isn't practical unless you have the money and more importantly, the desire. I don't. On one hand I resent the fact that I have to pay hundreds of dollars for an investment piece and THEN have to get it altered, and yet on the other hand I feel ridiculous for spending a bucket of money getting an inexpensive dress tailored. To me there really isn't any situation in which I feel good about alterations other than extremely simple hems. I'm sure for a lot of the ladies on the forum who DO have money and consider their clothes to be investments, it makes sense, but that isn't me. the only reason I bother is because I always go into it thinking it will be much simpler than it usually ends up being.
I weighed my crossbody once I filled it up and it came to 10 pounds! Hopefully that will be enough to stretch it out a bit.
