Is it too early to talk about Christmas gifts?

I got a Woolrich catalog in the mail today. I noticed this awesome red plaid three piece wool hunting suit. My husband doesn't want it, even for the Christmas bird count (brrrr), but maybe your SO would like it!

I've been thinking of composing an ensemble including all of my SO's poison items.

This would certainly cover the plaid!

This reminds me of the cotton flannel pj's I got myself last Christmas from LL Bean with a gift card from my brother. They are so comfy!

Emily, it is a real thing. They're selling them as separates, but come on - if you have plaid pants, wouldn't you want the jacket and vest, too?

My hubby is not into plaid (except for flannel PJ's)... but I would wear those fabulous pants in a heartbeat, perhaps with some pearls.

I don't think I can justify the price tag though.

And no, not too early to talk holidays. I'm hoping to be done before black friday. I'll do pretty much anything to avoid shopping between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

LP, I LOVE Woolrich. Your overalls look nice. Aren't you in Vermont? Perfect for you. Their prices have really zoomed up recently. The three piece suit and hat would cost nearly $1000.

My husband is very uncooperative. I would love to give him one of those pieces for Christmas. But he is all about fleece and Goretex, no thank you to wool.

Today the coffee shops in the Big City all converted their promos from 'pumpkin pie spice' combos to 'candy cane' versions. The news shop magazines are about 'party looks' and 'seasonal home decorating' without coming straight out with CHRISTMAS!

In Canada it is all over with Thanksgiving (October 10) and Holloween.

So, yeah! Christmas should be on your radar!

There were Christmas carols playing in the shops today!
Apparently it's not too early to think about it. And I even started my Christmas shopping.
I was also wondering whether the red plaid would really be worn as a 'suit'. I guess you'd be pretty visible in it!

actually Helen11, it was designed for visibility. back in the far off yonder days, long before the days of safety orange, men wore these for hunting. though they look like they've slimmed them down some. back in the day these were worn with heavy insulated underwear beneath them, not thermals, but the actual heavy quilted underwear. when you lived in the north country and planned on being out all day hunting, you dressed warm. lots of good memories of my dad wearing these.

Helen, Journey has it right. You definitely want to be seen! I don't know if a hunter would actually wear this these days, what with all the tech fabrics available, but the look is kind of nostalgic. I saw a ghillie suit in a local store. The irony is, we have no trees, so a better suit would be covered with sagebrush, maybe.

Journey, thanks for sharing your memories. I was just Minnesota and thought it was very cold, due to the dampness. I don't think I could cut it in the winter!

Never too early to talk about Christmas presents. I have already bought for the girls in my life, now have to get my 3 sons taken care of . Spreading it out helps the budgeting stay on track.

Nope! It's the best time to start planning your gifts, cos November is the best time for sales I've downloaded Giftry: Wish List Shopping App here. And creates a list of gifts for me, that I can share with my friends and also created the list of presents for my friends. I like planning all!

So I started my Christmas shopping this week. I love this time of year.

My goal is to get most of my shopping done by the end of November. Then traditionally I spend the month of December enjoying the festivities (parties, wrapping gifts, drinks with friends, weekend travel).
