Is it still kind of too early to be looking for feminine blousy tops?

I really need to find some feminine blousy tops for late spring/summer (to replace my t-shirts of last year-LOL) and wondered if it is too early.

I live in the Pacific NW where it is still in the 30s and 40s most days so I wont need them for awhile but wondered if I wait too long will I miss out?

I've been having a lot of luck in this department lately, so I don't think it's too early or too late. I don't really like long-sleeve blouses for some reason, I guess because they aren't as versatile as a short-sleeve or sleeveless that can be worn year round - just pop a cardi over and a cami under for winter warmth.

In fact, I scored 3 blouses at ATL this weekend. They aren't silk, they are more of a woven material, yet still feminine and blousy-looking. For example, this one has a subtle sheen to it:

Depending on your budget, check out BR's Monogram line for some gorgeous, classic silk blouses. Price is a bit steeper for this line though - but they are truly sumptious. I really love this one, but the fit was a bit off for me, sigh... I suspect it would be perfect for anyone larger than a C cup:

I don't own these but noticed them and they look very cute and spring-y. This halter cami from AE would look great under a cropped, short-sleeved cardi:

Ooh, those AE halter floral halter tops are gorgeous. Laura, have you seen them in the store and felt the material? Are they very thin? I don't like tops that are super thin (and show every bulge), and that's often the case in the lower end stores. Just curious. Thanks!

I've seen spring-y tops everywhere. Newport News has some fun bargains, you just have to be wary about the quality.

The gals are right. It's a great time to look for blouses with all types of sleeve lengths right now. Tops will get skimpier the closer we get to Summer.

Thank you everyone! I have an American Eagle in my town so I was able to run out and try the floral halter. I bought it and think it will be so fun under all different colors of cardis.

Thanks to all of you for the suggestions.

I will try the old navy one too. Are the cap sleeves ok because they will be hidden by the cardi?

Also, the halter looks terrible without the cardi over it because bras show etc. but it doesn't matter, right? because I will always wear with a cardi over it?

Shiny cannot wait to try the BR ones.

The problem I'm having is with fabric. It gets well over the 100s (F) here, and most blouses I'm seeing are 100% poly.

It's already in the 80's and it's March

the AE halter suggested by Laura would definitely work in 100 degree weather but the cami that I need to wear over it wouldn't!

Antje, I don't think the AE halter top would be clingy. Debbie, what do you think?

Debbie, I too would always wear a cardi with it, and same with the ON top - it's nice to cover up with a cardi and not to have to worry about bra straps and such!

thank you Laura! I am so excited to find these tops. I will go to ON today. I would have passed on that top because of the sleeves but if I am always wearing a cardi with it, it won't matter.

That kind of help and perspective is why I love this forum!

I did not think the AE top was clingy at all. Very comfy to me.

Do you think the ON one is for wearing with clams and not skirts? The description says hit at the hip.

Just noticed it has a built-in cami.

Oh, that's kind of a bummer about the built-in cami (this blouse I haven't seen in person). For some reason I rarely like those built-in type camis. And if it's not long enough to wear with clams then it's for sure a no-go! Will you report back after you try it?

sure I will! I have my fingers crossed. I do not mind built in camis.

Would you wear a cami under the AE one? I had one on when I tried it on and I think it might need it at the cleavage area.

I'm a bit jealous of you who can wear a cardi even in summer to cover bra straps and such.

Also what length should a top be for clams vs skirts?
