I always wanted to ask about this but didn't have a visual in hand. But I think Joy posted the website and I managed to dig it up.

This is the picture that made me put the Trinny and Susannah book down and never turn back:

She looks like she is wearing bubble wrap in the second picture! It doesn't just look sheer, it looks transparent. I was quite appalled when I saw it. Not only does it leave nothing to the imagination, it also fits her very poorly at the bust. I am not nuts about the "worst" dress but I think it's a lot better than the bubble wrap thing. In fact, I think the fit seems fine. I just don't care for the print.

Am I alone on this? I just can't believe they ever let this go to print.

Maya, you are so right. Labeling that the "Best Dress" is downright depressing.

OMG...that is sad. The model looks sickly in that second dress. The color and the shape do absolutely nothing for her slim body.

Also, I couldn't help but notice that the model is standing in different positions, which defeats the purpose of comparing the two dresses.

Trinny is ridiculous! Those two are more entertainers than anything, if you ask me - a la Stacey and Clinton.

I personally like large prints and soft fabric, so I think the first dress is fine. I don't really like the color or that print, but the shape of the dress is one I would definitely wear, and I don't think her bum looks big in either dress. The second dress is not flattering on her at all. I like how it says, "Gives a controlled yet sexily displayed outline." "Displayed" being the operative work here. Forgot your knickers there, Trinny? And I can't really see how it controls anything--it looks like it's made of loose chain mail.

Awful. The worst thing about Trinny is that she NEVER wears a bra. She's small busted, but to go braless is unstylish. Utter train smash.

But I have to give credit where its due, their shows do a great job of the women they make over, often better than Stacey and Clintons makeovers (sorry ladies). They add more spunk and personality to the outfits. Also, S& C’s show does not take woman over the age of 40. Absurd! My favourite makeover show ever was the one that Trinny and Susannah did for a couple of 70+ woman. KILLER.

I have a lot of issues regarding the US version of WNTW: mainly that as stylish as the outfits are, they just have no basis in the reality of how those women actually live. I could even overlook the uniformy nature of them if they were somewhat practical.

I've never seen it either Nicole. I didn't really care for the outfits they created in their book so I'm curious to see what the people on the show come out like.

Hmm, Maya, while I see your point about that particular link, overall, I loved the T&S book. It was a real eye-opener for me! It explained to me why all the clothes that look fab on my pear-shaped VFBF, sister, mother, and other friends looks so horrible on me... and vice versa.

As for WNTW, I will always be a fan of that show - even if they spurn us over-40s and sometimes their clothes aren't practical. I adore Clinton in particular. And, I credit that show for making more Americans care about what they wear. (of course, S&C would probably ban my Uggs... but I still love the show!)

I found the British WNTW completely enjoyable. Maybe it was all those accents and seeing how the Brits live. And I learned a lot. I had to get used to Stacy and Clinton, and I agree Shiny, Clinton is pretty adorable, great style. I kind of miss Trinny and Susannah's show! And I found both S & C and T &S first books really helpful.
