This has been a good summer for me, and I'm enjoying my summer clothes very much. The Anne Taylor kick crops and the three linen shirt dress/tunics are being put through their paces alone and mixed with older pieces. I'm also enjoying letting my hair air dry curly with just some leave in conditioner, and I keep repeating the white pedi! I'm NOT wanting to think about autumn/winter yet!

I'm kind of in a weird place so I thought it was just me but I'm right with you Lisa. I usually love summer because I can wear sandals every day, but this year I've struggled with finding the sandals I NEED. And my feet are not hard to fit. (Plenty I WANT but they are all for my fantasy life.) I went on a shopping blitz to find sandals and nothing tickled my fancy except the fall boots I stumbled upon. Also, I never found my summer purse so I'm making my old one work and it's just not making me happy. The good news is I have some extra budget available for NAS. I've been getting my list together for me and my SO, I love shopping the men's department, and the thought of sweaters and booties is appealing to me more than ever before.

Anne - I haven't found an a line at all . I saw a few online today from other sources but I'm not playing a guessing game with skirts . I hope the trend moves full force into fall and other labels feature them

Colette - glad it's not just me . I did finally luck into a couple of pair of new sandals but all of these new boots are beckoning ....

Suz- I am going to be joining you in some NAS buys . I know I have this negativity towards the whole ordering process but I have to get with the program . My issue now is info overload ! I was on both Nordstrom and Rack sites earlier and was totally overwhelmed . From one extreme to the other .

Deb- you too ?

Carla - I'm not waiting for summer to end just yet I did a white pedi myself this morning ! I have to look at Ann Taylor - are you ordering , or is there a store in Tor?

Lisap, I'm a bricks and mortar shopper, so no help with your online quest. Anne Taylor in the Eaton Center was brilliant this spring. I don't think there's a store that isn't featured in that place, and the downstairs is getting as posh as the top floor. There's a Rudsak, an All Saints, and more.
You know there's a Nordies opening in the fall that will anchor the mall?

Queen St. West is worth a trawl, as is Bloor east of University and over to Holts. They are calling Hazelton Lanes something else now, and it doesn't seem to be what it was a couple of years back.

I only get out during lunch hour, and the occasional overnight, so I'm somewhat restricted to the radius of my office tower. I can make the E C in 15 min though the underground PATH system, and it is full of shops!

If it's crazy, color me cuckoo. We've had 92-100 degree days (Essentially no Spring, either) with even hotter 'real feel' temps and for me, it sucks any joy out of getting dressed. Autumn and Winter cannot come quickly enough ... for fashions & comfort!

Fall has always been my favourite season. I have never been a fan of summer. The one thing I like about summer is that I can wear sandals. That is about it. This year our summer has been on the cool side. Fortunately.
Fall shopping is the best. I love wearing jeans, booties, sweaters and blazers. I am definitely looking forward to it.

Even as a girl, I loved fall the best: back-to-school shopping for clothing and supplies (pens! notebooks!), the best weather of the year (crisp! energetic!), the best sports, nature looks amazing, etc. etc.

It's just started to feel like summer here, and I'm done with summer looking and shopping. Thank goodness that wedding guest dress was only $30!

DH is a true summer person, and I am one who would be really, really happy with one solid month of true summer and then on to fall. Thankyouverymuch.

NAS comes at the PERFECT time for me. I have to start thinking about "my fall style" ... I'm trying that Trina Turk coat and I also want a great knit or two. I think this might be a dark fall/winter for me.

I very much yearn for cooler weather, but I am trying to reprogram my thinking. I am trying to learn to like summer. But yes, the clothing are not up to Fall/Winter standards. I miss my cozy and comforting layers. I miss toppers.

OK this is funny. I still haven't got my summer clothes out of the spare room closet. I've pulled a few items out to wear, but haven't done the wholesale switch over (which means making space so putting more cooler weather things away). So no, not looking for fall in the slightest. I have a lot of summer clothes that I really love, and can't wait for the simplicity and casualness of summer dressing. Which for me generally kicks in this week.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE "sweater weather". But I need me a couple of months of easy dresses and exposed toes before I want to think about them!

I always look forward to fall clothing! My absolute favorite time of year and favorite clothing.
That said wasn't thinking about it and then I was on dsw ans I just had to buy these! The picture doesn't show it but it is a lovely dusty purple .

Fall temps and clothes are my favorite...winter, not so much as it drags on and on, and the layers needed for outdoor comfort are way too warm for indoors. I am in and out all day due to my job...sigh...

I always keep a couple of new summer purchases to debut in August as I am done "buying" for summer some time in the April/May time frame. I HATE being hot and shopping when it's hot doesn't tempt me in the least. When I was in Salt Lake City in June, I went to Nordstrom and only bought at the makeup/fragrance counters...nothing in the clothes or shoes tempted me at all.

I did buy some great pieces for this spring/summer that I have enjoyed wearing, but I am also looking forward to the NAS.

This summer has been the best for me so far, style-wise. I shopped smart and am VERY happy with my outfits everyday.

But when you live in a hot, humid country, you wish for fall all through summer!!! This is the WORST time of the year for us. It's crazy hot & humid and I can't think of anything that'll make me happier than pants-weather. I miss pants!!

Oddly enough, I'm not quite wishing away this summer yet, but we had a relatively cool start to summer here -- a very unusual occurrence. There are a couple of summer purchases I made that I've barely worn yet, and now that I'm about to be out of town for a few weeks, it looks like they'll get even less wear (I'll mainly be in hiking gear on my trip, except for a few days in Seattle). And then this last week I've been lying low and not going out in public much with my ugly poison ivy rashes, so I've been slumming it in ultra-casual tees and shorts.

I'm usually pretty antsy for fall -- and fall shopping and style -- by the time mid-July rolls around, but I did find some good things for summer this year, and like I said, the weather has mostly cooperated until now. I'm nowhere near in a fall shopping mindset at the moment, but I'll muster up some mood for it I'm sure, since I'll be in Seattle for NAS.

I haven't even given a thought to what I would like to look for, as far as fall/winter shopping goes. I feel like I have plenty already, and nothing I've seen so far in the sale catalog really sparked much interest, although I know that the catalog is only the tip of the iceberg. I could probably stand a good closet edit before I even think about NAS and fall shopping, but I doubt that's going to happen in the next three days before I leave town.

I guess in general I'm not in a huge shopping mood at the moment. I've bought a couple of bargain things lately, but I'm considering returning even those. Feeling very picky, and a bit price-conscious since we're thinking of getting me a new car this year, and we STILL need to redo our bathroom.

We'll see if NAS flips that switch for me...;-)

More love of autumn here - and the clothes that come with it. Every July/August I start wondering why the heck I live in central Texas in summer. I even bought a sweater while on vacation in anticipation of -- late November weather (yes, it takes that long to cool down here). We may take another trip just to get a tasted of autumn earlier.

I was always a fall and spring favoring type, yet this summer perfect weather and some new favorites have combined for a higher happiness factor than previous years. Maybe it's just my attitude. I am having fun with ankle strap sandals, funky sneakers, crops that I would have avoided just 18 months ago, comfy and casual lightweight loungewear and a lot of white. I wouldn't have predicted this at all. Never say never.

You and me both, Lisa! We've already had fifteen days over 90° and another twenty-four over 80°. I'm over it.

Fall is my favorite season and NAS is my favorite sale, so I actually start to think heavily about fall this time of year. I've never been a big summer fan, not for the weather or the clothes.

I'm liking summer weather, when we have it-it's been everything from high 90's to 60's -I like mid 70's to low 80's. But I finally found a few items to wear in the high heat, so of course it is cooler now. I found that since I started adding navy a few years back summer is easier than when all my pants/crops were black. And I love wearing my maxi skirt.

That said, I'm looking forward to NAS. I think not so much for the clothes, but for the excitement and newness. I've only shopped NAS the last two years, and bought a few much loved items. I was looking forward to Alexis Bittar but they are carrying almost nothing anymore :(.

I got some pretty nice summer things at the sales( I got a late start) but fall/winter clothing will always be first in my heart. When I look at my clothing it is 2/3 fall/winter and 1/3 spring/summer. I live in Michigan so we tend to have cold weather a little longer. I went to a comedy show a while back and the woman said we have two seasons in Michigan, winter and road repair. I always find the most luxurious fabrics for the colder months, velvet, suede, brocade, really buttery leather...okay must stop, starting to drool. I love linen, fine cottons and silks but they just don't compare to cold weather fabrics. And sweaters, don't get me started on that.
Barbara Diane, my niece's boyfriend works at the Chicago Nordstroms and I asked about Alexis Bittar. He said they were told they are making way for other newer designers. Apparently it hasn' been selling too well in the past couple of years. I don't know if that is true but I will be sorry if that is the case. I have two of the sky blue lucite bracelets which were the first "designer" jewelry I even bought myself. And I have a studded bronze horseshoe necklace from him I won after intense bidding on EBay that I treasure.

Anna - here in Manitoba, we too are known for two seasons: winter and construction. In fact, access to our backlane has been , let's just say inconvenient for the past month as major road resurfacing is going on nearby. Everywhere you drive here - construction reigns. Glad we're not the only ones

I love Alexis Bitter - and am surprised to hear the sell-through hasn't been strong.
