Is anyone wearing those printed PJ looking pants?

They look so comfy! They look like just what I need except they are so far out of my comfort zone...like in a whole other country! I was wondering if anyone has and wears something like this, how you feel in them, and what kinds of tops go with with. Even if I did try it, I'd have to buy a top also...seems like long and loose isn't the way to go with these?

No one has posted a WIW with them, and Angie has not mentioned them, but I'm seeing them showing up some in my area. First I thought just with teenagers, but today I saw two women my age (50 ish) in something like this.

Those look like the perfect summer pant don't they? My fear is if not styled absolutely right it would look like you were wearing your PJs!

They're cute and comfy looking. I think they are analogous to a maxi skirt in styling. Wear a cropped or short, and probably fitted, top with it to balance it out I think.

seeing lots in stores, but no one buying them or wearing them. Lots of print maxi skirts being worn by all ages though.

I prefer this to the maxi dress craze, although I have been tempted to buy a maxi dress and whack it off to midi length!

I think these would work well for you, as long as you use the right toppers and keep the length long enough!

Well not those exact pants ( Anthro doesn't really do plus sizes ) but I do have and wear similar ones . Yesterday I wore some navy foulard print ones with a slightly narrower cut,ankle pant length and a drawstring . I wore a solid color navy lace tee shirt on top with nude sandals and white jewelry.

I have some other knit soft pants that are flowwy wide legs and prints that I have in rotation too.

I like these, although I would swim in the fabric so wouldn't wear them myself. But I love the print! I think for a top, I agree that something fitted is best. I like the look of the sleeveless top on the model, since the sleeveless characteristic lengthens the vertical line. You could try a tank or a cami also, maybe with a fitted cardigan that hits no longer than hip length (?). Since Floradora mentioned that they would be like styling a maxi skirt, I'm trying to think of what I wear with maxis. I have one on today, and I am wearing what is basically a cami plus a high-hip-length fitted cardi over the top.

I just ordered this skirt from Anthro. It is a maxi, and there are some different top options shown. Maybe this would help give you ideas? Be sure to click on the different colors available, because there are separate ensembles for each one.

Warning from one who has been there: wearing pants like these with fullness and elastic or drawstring waists can allow weight to creep up without your realizing it. Balance them with jeans. These pants can be evil.

I kind of love these, but with the wide leg that's a whole lot of pant unless you're pretty tall.
I had a slightly slimmer version of a slouchy patterned pant that I loved and wore a lot (unfortunately too big now, so I no longer have them).

I have a similar version, but it is a jogger style so not ovewhelming for my petite height. I also chose one with just two colors so not so busy. Yes they are extremely comfortable.

I agree that the slimmer legs are much easier to make look intentional. The wider legs are in stores and I suppose would be great for summer, but the same things apply to these as apply to wide leg jeans or dress pants in my mind - they demand tall heels, perhaps with pointed toes, although I imagine tall wedges would do in the summer. Regardless, I have chosen the Birkie trend over the wide pant trend because I don't feel I can do both with my short legs!

I MUCH prefer this look to maxi dresses and skirts. High five, Beth Ann. If I lived in Australia or Africa, I would wear them again. I have a few clients who wear these on tropical holidays. They aren't that Seattle-friendly.

What about the blouse-y version that nips in at the ankle? They seem to me to be a cross between a harem pant and a palazzo. I picked up a pair in black and white and they almost work with snake wedge sandals, black moto, and white tank. They just went back to the store to be nipped in a tad more. Any ideas?

Oh, I have a pair from last summer. They're a grey on white with crochet lace. A very comfy outfit. Too cool as yet, though, for them.

I fondled some when I was in a real store this week but left them on the rack. I did try on a shorts version, though, and liked the feel. Not the right print for me at the store, but I'm likely to pursue a silky shorts version for this summer.

I love these. I don't think there's any chance of looking like you're wearing pajamas as long as you're not heading out accessorized with a hoodie and bedhead. I had two pairs back when they were called "pallazo pants", and I loved them! Echo, I also have short legs but some kind of magic happens with these: the high waist and swish of fabrics around the legs creates a long leg line.. Cannot wait to stock up this season!! I know it won't last, so I'm going to enjoy it while I can!

I purchased a pair of those pants but sadly had to return them. Not due to any fit issues (they are the comfiest things in the world OMGGGG) but because it did not go with anything on my wardrobe. It still gave me a very slight muffin top and there's no way it will look good on me semi/faux/un tucked. I had to send it back

Joy, your comment made me think about a shopping day my daughter and I had a few weeks ago. She saw some in Nordstrom and stated "those pants are just looking for someone to fat in them". I had to laugh.

Thanks everyone! I really can't picture myself pulling these off, but I'm going to try some on tomorrow just for fun. I think the issues would be that I'd also have to buy a top for them, and that would be money spent on just one outfit...I can't see them being very versatile. If I could find a dark solid pair that might be different.

I know what you mean Joy, and that has happened to me some this winter with Ponte, but I'm having nerve pain issues and things that don't press are vital. I can't wear tight just to make sure I don't gain weight...it will have to come some other way!

I used to wear them a long time ago. Today I wore print pants but the band kept them from being PJs, I hope. If not, too late.

I haven't seen the wide leg versions as much as the pegged or gathered at the ankle versions like the ones TraceyLiz is wearing. I think if you style them appropriately they don't look like pjs. I think a lot is dependent on the print, too. Something very bright or multicolored reads more pj-like to me than a monochrome print.

I wear pants like these as Jennifer described. Like a maxi skirt in pant form. I prefer them less wide than the palazzo pants of yore. I have a blue patterned pair in a tile print and a solid black.

Since this has popped back up to the front I will add that I did try a pair on just for fun...and it wasn't too fun! I looked ridiculous. So that's a pass for me, but I do want to look for something flowy, slightly less wide legged but just as soft, and in a solid dark color.
