Wow, lots of tube skirt owners chiming in here! It's always interesting to see what's become of the super popular YLF items after a few years.
Rachy, you make a good point about environment playing a role. I wonder if part of my not wearing them this year is that we moved to a different lab space that is a lot warmer in the summer (in fact it is too warm, compared to too cold in the old lab) so now it feels too hot to wear the tube skirts comfortably at work. Breezy full skirts are a better bet.
Susie, that's an interesting idea to cut them! I may try that with one of them later in the summer if I still don't feel like wearing them as is...
Shevia, LOL!
Joy, the stripe one really was amazing, wasn't it? I still think it's super flattering, I"m just not feeling like wearing it.
Brooklyn, I do have a ruched black tube skirt with an asymmetrical front. That one is dressier but I do still wear it for more dressy occasions. It's also shorter (not a midi) though.
Sterling, I keep Tide pens lying around (at home and work) and have gotten many a stain out with them. I do also have the stain sticks that Karie mentions but prefer the Tide pen when out and about because you can continue to wear the item after applying it.
Karie, I hope you share your outfit here! I think we could all use some VC skirt inspiration! =D
Aquamarine, I agree about the waistband being very forgiving!
Janet, I think we may have the same black/grey skirt.
Glory, I think that 2 years without wearing is probably a good sign that it's time to pass them on. I did wear mine last year, although not as often as in previous summers.
Minimalist, I used to wear mine with looser layers up top to mitigate the body-con-ness. The double layering was surprisingly effective too. I find them a bit too constricting (around the knees particularly) for loungewear though.
Traci, I hope you can find some more of the Caslon ones!
Lisa, now you know!
