Introduction and first Keep or Return

Hello everyone, have been reading the forum for a while and finally decided to post. Hope it is not too presumptuous to dive right in with a keep or return question (and a bunch of related questions, too).

A bit of intro - I am in academia so my wardrobe is a mix of casual lab-appropriate clothes and slightly more dressy clothes for teaching. Since I really like all the boot-and-skirt and boot-and-skinnies combinations that I have seen here, I have been gradually drifting towards wearing more boots at work (and more skirts, too). I saw a post about boot sale at Scarpasa and decided to buy a pair to fill a wardrobe hole (needed mid-calf boots to wear with skinnies). Unfortunately, the boots I ordered turned out to be too narrow for my toes so I sent them back. I did not realize that I could only get store credit for sale merchandise so now I will need to use the credit on Scarpasa only.

I got another pair of boots using store credit and am trying to decide whether to keep them. They are in the pictures (and you will notice a heavy YLF influence, too, with Halogen skirt and Pleione blouse ).

I already have somewhat similar booties for wearing with pants but I think (not sure) that the Pons Quintana booties might work with skirts, too. What do you think?

BTW, among other things, I teach medical students, many of whom are quite stylish. Since I started reading YLF, I found myself complimenting students (females only ) on a particularly nice choice of colors in their outfits etc. Don't know if this is weird or maybe even creepy but I guess I appreciate stylish people more these days.

Makrame, welcome to the forum! Don't worry that your first post is about help: most of us started with that (me included!:-)
I LOVE those boots and they fit you well in length and in the calf. Color is beautiful and unique too. They would be great with skirts and skinnies both, great buy!
Those black booties should work with skirts as well as they are heeled and below the ankle but I hope you keep those grey beauties!

I think the grey boots are really nice. What a great fit in the calf. They look stable, comfortable and versatile, too. I agree with Sveta that they would look good with skirts or skinnies. Black booties are nice as well, are you trying to decide between the two pairs?

I don't think it's creepy at all to compiment the other women. It might have felt awkward to do it, but be assured you probably made their day!

These boots are great! I have gray boots and I wear them all the time. They are a great neutral and a nice departure when I don't want the heaviness of a black boot.

Hi Sveta, Claire, and modgirl, glad you like the boots. Clearlyclaire, I was trying to decide whether to send the grey boots back and try black booties instead but I think I might just keep the grey ones. Like modgirl said, the lighter grey color might help "lighten up" some of my outfits, especially black skirts.

Modgirl, what color hosiery do you normally wear with grey boots? I am thinking lighter grey or nude?

Love the grey boots and they look like a great fit around the calf, which can be hard to find.

I really like the grey boots and they look like a custom fit which is pretty hard to find with boots.

That is one great fit on those boots. I like them a lot and find grey to be a very versatile color! Glad to know about Scarpasa's policy, that's one of the places I'm headed in my boot search.

Congratulations on your first WIW post. I agree with others - keep the grey boots if they feel comfortable. I have a pair of grey boots and wore them more than any of my black or brown last year (and plan to again this year) I also like what you've paired them with here - you could do grey tights or a totally other color for fun.
