Hi everyone,
This is the first time I've ever posted on a blog. I must say that I feel a bit guilty profiting from all the information that's been available on YLF over the past 6 years and at the same time never participating.
I've used many of Angie's suggestions about style and clothing finds to refine my own style. As a result of her advice and the conversations on the forum, I've become more discerning about what I buy. This has resulted in a more cohesive wardrobe and style with very few unworn pieces and wasted expenditures.
It's a bit strange that even though I'm retired and have gray hair, I prefer this style blog to all the others. There are many blogs for "older women" but they just don't speak to me. My body type is very much like Angie"s or perhaps Suz's and therefore allows me to comfortably wear clothes form Banana Republic, J Crew, Gap, and BCBG generation. My style concern is how to look sophisticated while wearing youthful clothes. I like simple lines, soft structure, texture, military jackets, blues, grays, purples and whites with an occasional black item thrown into the mix. Plaids have a special place in my wardrobe.
Thanks to everyone for sharing so much about yourselves and your style concerns. I enjoy all the forum discussions.
