Hi! I'm Mary.

I used to work crazy hours as a software developer. Back then there was money but no time! Since I worked in an IT shop with a lot of nerds, fashion didn't seem to matter much either (that was the excuse I used anyway!)

My job was eliminated two years ago and there's still 12% unemployment in our town.

We were working towards the goal of me retiring early anyway so we decided I would stay quit.

Now I have time but we don't have extra money right now. So I'm here trying to learn everything I can. I sew and I imagine I'll be putting those skills to use along with perhaps trying to thrift some purchases too.

Our house will be paid off relatively soon (thank you Dave Ramsey) and then perhaps I'll have time and money to do some shopping!

For now, I'm going to jump in and start reading what people have to say. If you see a vote from me, take it with a grain of salt because I'm pretty fashion challenged! On a good day, I wore a twin set, string of pearls, dress trousers and flats to work.
