Thanks for such extremely kind feedback. I appreciate it. I took quite a bit of time to do try-ons when I shopped for this outfit, and I went with some very sheer, natural shade support hose. I invested in a bag and shoes that match.
The dress is actually a very tiny navy plaid pattern (extremely subtle), but I could not find a suitable navy blazer. Consequently I went with a black blazer and found a silk scarf with navy, black and cream, to tie it all together.
I also found the hose to be really supportive and the natural colour just gives the slightest sheen/smoothness which looks nice I think, and helped me not to freeze.
The shoes have a low wedge heel, so they’re a bit special but still comfy.
The most difficult part of the outfit was finding a blazer, they didn’t tend to fit me correctly, and most looked awful. They tended to be very expensive, but thankfully this particular one was really reasonable (phew).
Financially this outfit was a big hit to my budget. I kind of needed it though because I literally did not have an interview suit, and I’m 100% confident each piece will get utilized a lot over time.
The interview went reasonably well, it’s not a job I’m particularly excited about, really just an interim thing whilst I look for something that’s a better fit. Hopefully I will have more interviews over the next 6-12 months for something more long-term.
I will wear this outfit or parts of it at least for normal work days, and I think the shoes and bag will be lovely for neat casual outfits.
Thanks again for looking
