Interview at a luxury jewelry company... what to wear?

Although I was rejected from one internship today, I received a call for an interview for a PR internship with a different organization... a luxury jewelry company (something I'm much more interested in!)

Judging by the company's website, this is a high fashion place. Their jewelry has been worn by countless celebrities and is sold in fine stores (Neiman Marcus, etc) and is priced at 1k+. I'm not sure if it's professional to say the name of the company?

Anyway, I obviously have to look really fashion forward for this interview. What should I wear? Should I go find that perfect suit and punch it up with a colorful top? Or should I go a different route? I have no idea!

My interview is on Monday so I have all weekend to find the perfect interview outfit. What would you suggest?

I know that it is a jewellery line but if you had to compare it to a fashion brand what would it be? This may help us to visualise how 'fashion forward' you would need to be.

RoseandJoan, good question. Probably comparable to Nordstrom's Classique's Entier brand. Luxurious yet modern. I'm not too familiar with a lot of super expensive brands. Their website doesn't give me a funky vibe... just very expensive, modern, and pretty. And unique!

I would wear modern classic clothes with a twist, luxury fabrics such as cashmere and leather and your usual impeccable grooming. Do you own a silk blouse?

I would pull out all the stops with this: wear your very best suit, shoes and bag. The beautiful jacket that you recently purchased would work as well with a pair of good quality tailored pants or pencil skirt. If I were you I would also add a nice, original piece of fine jewelry if you have one.

I agree with RoseandJoan and bella - very good suit, shoes and a luxurious silk blouse. Think luxe and you're there. Even somewhat 'bankerish', if that makes sense - but, definitely modern as well - nothing too stodgy.

Make sure your own jewelry is polished and clean - you can get simple jewelry cleaner just about anywhere, and I'd recommend a professional manicure (something pale and neutral) if you can swing it.

Nothing new to add - I think the ladies have given you great suggestions and the key is to look luxe. Definitely wear the most expensive jewelry item you own - borrow if you need to. Good luck!!!
