Interesting: what to do with packages you didn't order

I've seen several threads on here recently about packages arriving that weren't ordered, so when I read this article, I figured I'd post it here.

Interesting for sure, and now I'm wondering why I never get these free shoes and such I've read about on here LOL

That is interesting, although I think I would try to return it if I possibly could! I hope this means someone is enjoying my ill-fated clothing purchase from a few months ago lol!

I try to return them - I wouldn't feel great about keeping someone else's item.

I think the article was referring to things addressed to you that you didn't order. It talked about getting a package intended for a neighbor & suggested you take it to them if you knew where they lived or whatever

I send it back because I do not like to keep one thing that another person has ordered unless it is a trusted neighbor I give him his collis as soon as he comes back.

I think this has only happened to me once. Gap sent me some baby jeans and gloves with my order. I called them and they said to keep them. I didn't want them so I intended on bringing them back to the store. They got lost in the back of my closet and when I uncovered them I decided to donate them since I was heading to do a donation drop off. I don't feel the slightest bit bad about it because I did call them and they didn't want them back.

This happened to my mom last year -- received a package from Amazon with a nice backpack inside that she hadn't ordered. She tried to return it but they didn't want it back, so she got to keep it! Amazon ships so much stuff that there are bound to be mix-ups. The original buyer will get a refund or a replacement; personally I don't think it's a big deal, especially coming from a large company with huge margins. With a smaller company/independent seller, I would be more inclined to go out of my way to make sure the package gets to its intended destination.

This happened to me a few years ago...I contacted the store, and UPS....no one would take it back. I donated it to a clothing charity.
