I have several pair of boots, but no sleek black dressy boots. However, our winter is coming to an end (boo) and I think a basic pair of black pumps would be a better purchase for me right now.
I do want to wear them with tights, though, so I was wondering if anyone had suggestions? I love suede, and I don't mind cut out detailing or peep toes. I like wedges or classic pumps anywhere from 3 - 3 1/2" inches.
I like these, but obviously they are way too high for every day.

I like the first one best, too. Why do you say they are "obviously" too high? I work in a very conservative environment and I wear shoes that high all the time! I say if they feel good (and I just bought a pair of Chinese Laundry 4-inch evening sandals that are beautifully comfy), go for it!

Well, for me, it isn't a matter of conservative, but for an every day shoe (ie: running errands after work) 4" is just too high for me.
So to give you an idea, I want something to wear with this dress (photo 1), black tights, and a black BF blazer.
I have several dresses like that, and no boots or pumps to wear them with, and I really want to utilize them.

LOVE that dress! I vote for the last pair of shoes. I think the brown heel looks fresh and would be fine with black tights.

I think you should order both #2 and #3 and see which is comfier. Steve Madden shoes are not usually very comfortable so you might be better off ordering both.
Also, did you just say your winter is coming to an end? I positively hate all you southerners!

You have great taste in shoes and dresses! I like the first pair the best as well. Although the heel is 4 inches, wouldn't they feel like 3-inch heels because of the one-inch platform? My second choice of the three would be the one with the brown heels, based on their profile.

Comfort is key. I can't believe your winter is almost over. I was actually in KC today looking at some tall black wedge boots as I was hunting for more winter footwear. Sigh.

Good suggestions! I'll order both and have a walk off.
We'll probably have one more week of actual cold sometime in January. I got some adorable burgandy/purple thigh high socks on clearance yesterday and now I want OTK boots to pair with them. But that would be silly at this point.

I say try them both for comfort, too.

If you decide you like the first pair better but they're uncomfortable, you might want to take a look at Seychelles. They make several styles with the same conical high heel that might be more comfortable.
