Inspired by Thistle, now need help DIYing a poncho

I got inspired to try a poncho look for myself. It's new to me!

I got the find below at Zara and wondered if anyone has a recommendation on how to turn this square meter of cloth (as approprio said) into a poncho

I am going to google, I'm sure I might find something but wanted to check for the wise wisdom on YLF as well.

I'm hoping for a no sew option!

I am so far from crafty we are not on the same planet much less the same block. Still, good luck!! I was rather surprised when I got the ponchos that they really much more than a beautifully draping length of fabric.

Obviously you don't have to knit it first. Does require sewing but it's just one straight seam.

I've used a sequence of simple pins to pin it together. Or sometimes I pin the short rectangle side (the plum on yours) to the top of the long rectangle side (the gray and black on yours) to create an exaggerated cowl neck poncho. Also, if yours is an open enough weave, you can use a cord or ribbon and sew the edge together with a blanket stitch, faggoting stitch or cross stitch, all of which are decorative. I'm awful at doing a mattress stitch (not really--I just don't find it enjoyable at all) so I'd rather do a decorative stitch!

I googled and saw to fold in triangle and again and then cut. May try it

Hey K, thanks! The 2nd way is the only version I've tried so far. The fabric is pretty thick (kind of reminds me of fleece, but different fabric, but that same thickness/weight to it). I don't think 3 would work but I may try #1.

Also when I get around to it I may try to get a piece of fabric of the same size and experiment cutting it up (a hole for my head) and seeing if I can really convert it to a poncho.
