I ventured to the mall yesterday (an Apple store errand is my excuse, pretty much the main reason I go there anymore besides a Nordstrom return) and cruised through Zara just to see what the trends look like on the racks. I spied this pair of slit hem pants and decided to try them on, remembering how much I loved Lisa's split hem Liverpool jeans in her recent post. Lo and behold, I think they work on me! They are cropped, but somehow the slit creates an effect I like on my body much more than a straight horizontal cropped hem. And on sale for $20.

This morning I took a few minutes and played with them in my closet, pairing them with various booties, and I think they work well for me. It's funny, because I have been wondering how to update my very classic, traditional sweaters that I've had for years -- styles like argyle. I like them and they're good quality and nice colors, but they feel too boring paired with bootcut jeans, since that's how I used to wear them, pre-YLF. Pop them on with these pants, and I feel more current! I didn't take photos, but I'll probably wear them quite soon and I'll make sure to take pics then.
