Inspired by karmyk - TV style role models

Hi there, inspired by karmyk's post about Robin Wright in House of Cards, I am wondering who your television style and fashion role models are?

For my imaginary life, I dress like Olivia Pope.

For my real life, I more copy the mom from Good Luck Charlie (sad perhaps - but lifestyle-practical!)

I have also weirdly pinned several outfits from Madeline Stowe on Revenge (which I have never watched) because she seems to wear a lot of v-necks with really pretty and simple jewelry, which is the stuff of a good uniform in my book.

I love Ginnifer Goodwin's character in Once Upon a Time. I love all of the soft fabrics, lots of textures, some muted prints, and beautiful coats that she wears. And if course, when you mix that with her short pixie cut... I was hooked from the first episode on!

There was a show a few years ago called "Lie to Me" and Kelli Williams played a scientist who could tell if you were lying or not. She had the best, best clothes.

I'm with SarahTheWhite: I love Mary Margaret Blanchard's style from Once Upon a Time. And her pixie, sigh. (I actually had a similar pixie inspired by her last year, but couldn't afford to get it cut as frequently as it needed. Plus, I realised I look better without bangs. But now she has that fabulous Jean Seberg-esque pixie that's even shorter and without bangs, and I covet it! Every time I watch an episode I have to stop myself from running to the hair stylist and getting my hair chopped off again.)

I also adored the colours of the dresses worn in the BBC's adaptation of Sense & Sensibility (from 2008 maybe? not the Emma Thompson version). I generally love seeing the outfits in historical shows: right now I'm watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, which is full of serious eye candy.

Oh I am so out of it. The only show mentioned that I am familiar with is Good Luck Charlie ever since my 6 year old nephew came to visit. (Ok and Downton Alley but I haven't watched it.)

I'm out of it too Shevia. Only know who Walking Dead's Michonne is. I secretly covet all those post apocalyptic type looks, even though they're tattered and dirty half the time.

For my real life, the best I can think of for me is maybe Bernadette from Big Bang Theory (lots of cute dresses and cardigans) if she wore darker colors, with a little bit of Liz Lemon mixed in for my ongoing efforts to dress for a big-city office job while feeling as much like I'm wearing sweatpants as humanely possible.

Not sure who on TV fits my imaginary life.

Definitely Abbie Mills from Sleepy Hollow; she's got some awesome leather jackets and boots. I don't keep up with a ton of shows, though, but I do love the lady on Love It or List it on HGTV; she has a very covetable wardrobe.

Lucy Liu on Elementary; don't know if everything she wears would suit me but I certainly aspire to her style.

I've also always liked the Australian newsreader Sandra Sully, I "borrowed" her hairstyle for a few years.

I really appreciate how costumes bring focus to characters. The ordinary dress of the characters from Doc Martin for example. Or any character from Breaking Bad or The Wire. But in terms of sheer eye candy, I would have to be on Team Downton.

Regina (the wicked queen) from Once upon a Time. i want her entire wardrobe (and her house...) although on me it would be more RATE as the buttons wouldn't stay done up and the cuffs would get pushed back... but her black white and red is to die for.

Also, Kate Beckett in Castle had the greatest wardrobe in the first season. My DD and I watched it together and I swear she wore a different trench coat in every one of the 10 or 12 episodes. Plus a great boatneck sweater that they repeated in several colours. In later seasons they tried to turn her from no-nonsense cop into bombshell, which didn't sit so well with me.

Regina has gorgeous style too L'Abeille! Power dressing at its best (and she gets the best theme music too, hehe). I want her wallpaper; the tree one in the her office. Re: changing a female character from no-nonsense into a bombshell, the same thing happened on Bones, much to my chagrin.
