Outfits Ensembles Trends Advice

I tried to work with what is in my closet to find new outfits in my closet. I haven't been wearing tops with coats, so this was a good chance to try to see what I could come up with. With no flowered shirt and no culottes, I substituted my crop flares and six newish tops. It was fun and I now have new outfits. I'm going to be wearing this outfit today to a concert but haven't decided on the coat.

Thank you harmonica, Angie, Jenni NZ, and JAileen. Our weather was warm today, a surprising 85 degrees, so I brought the black coat to wear in the auditorium to ward off the air conditioning. My red coat is wool and would be too warm for this weather but it's a favorite of mine for cool days.

You look fantastic! I am now going to attempt an awkward compliment; I had no idea you were over 70. There is nothing wrong with being over 70 of course, and there is no reason someone should not give off an energetic, vibrant and curious vibe as you do at any age, and certainly Joy does as well. So I am recalibrating my mind and returning to my first thought. You look fantastic!

Bonnie, I echo Shevia's compliment! And I also want to say that you wear this silhouette so amazingly well and I am always wowed by it, because for myself I somehow find this very difficult to pull off. (I haven't quite figured out why). LOVE all of these, but most especially the one with the red coat. Red is your friend -- it complements your beauty and vibrancy.

Suz: Thank you. I had never worn red before joining YLF and now it's one of my favorite colors. I have a short waist and this silhouette works for me because I'm a bit of a pearish rectangle.

It's amazing what a little tweak in silhouette can do! This look is chic, easy going and fresh. You look great! I love it best with the red for a concert -- I like bright colors at big events, because it's easier to find people in your party that way, but it sounds like the day was a bit too warm. The navy topper is lovely, with a nice drape.
